I?ve only had this petrol leon for 4 weeks and unfortunately when the car is idling it splutters and feels like it is about to stall. This also causes the headlights and dashboard lighting to flicker. At the dealership the head SEAT technician said he has seen a few like this and it is a characteristic of the engine and he does not know how to solve the issue. The car idles at 600 to 650 rpm and he believes this is the problem which he has mentioned to SEAT with no comeback.
Surely this cannot be right, how can such a new car behave like this and it be considered acceptable or am I being fobbed off? I have saved up for this car and feel gutted. Does anyone have any suggestions or own a 1.6 SEAT. Thanks.

For the last year I have been insured by a well known firm specialising in clients over 50yrs and when the renewal notice came through the post for my Berlingo I decided to go elsewhere. This was on the 24th of the month and I telephoned the company to inform them I would not be renewing my insurance with them as I had gone elsewhere.
It was somewhat surprising that a couple of days later a letter arrives thanking me for renewing and that payment from my credit card had been taken. Such payment had not been authorised by me. I thought just a little hick up in the system and in a couple of days to money would be returned.
Now after two days calling my credit card company and the insurance company I find the money will not be refunded until I return the insurance certificate. I am quite happy to return the certificate, as requested on their letter confirming non renewal, it is valueless to me and I have a valid one from another company, the problem is you are not informed that money will be withheld until its return!!
Backroomers take note of what appears to me to be another way of holding on to funds at other peoples expense, and relying on second class mail for the refund.

A DD does NOT give you 100% control - you still have to tell people
to stop taking money out of your account and they have to comply with your
instruction
Not true - I can cancel direct debits via internet banking. The next thing that happens is that you get a letter from them usually, which starts "We notice uou have recently cancelled your direct debit...". Can be dangerous if you actually owe them money as they will usually demand immediate and full payment, but for something like an annual subscription, it stops them taking money by "mistake" with the subsequent hassle of you trying to get it back.
Hi all
It feels like last week when we talked about the batteries that Nissan will be making at Sunderland and the fact that maybe they will make the electric car here as well...
Oh wait, it was last week, and yet already Nissan has added more work to Sunderland with the make of the 2-litre engine. It?s not the electric car but it?s still a big leap. I?m interested to know what you guys think about this. It seems a bit sudden or isn?t it weird at all?
Cheers
Dan

One of the local news websites I visit regularly has a contributor who caps up the first letter of every word in what are very lengthy paragraphs.
Very irritating and someone who refuses to change his/her ways.
Hope you can help, When driving in second, third or fourth gear, the revs drop as if there is no fuel getting to the engine, this also happens when you go to stop the car and put your foot on the clutch the revs drop to around 500 and then picks back up..I have changed the fuel filter. It just feels as if the petrol tank is empty or is about to run out of petrol...Just a thought when the spluttering is going on if you change gear up or down then the engine picks up fine... Thanks Read more
Thanks for that Peter, i will take a look..Thanks for your time.
Anyone got any tips as to how to shampoo and more importantly dry cloth seat fabric. My seat are a light cloth and can leave a tide mark when cleaned. How do the pros manage to leave the seats so fresh looking? Read more
I just get carpet and upholstery cleaner from Morrisons and it works a treat. test a small area first of course for colour fastness.
Apologies if this has been covered before but I am trying to clarify what three wheelers are covered by a full car licence. Obviously three wheeled cars like the Reliant, Messerschmidt, etc. are. I recall that when I was younger these could also be driven on a full motorcycle licence. Does this apply.
Beyond this though it seems unclaer. A friend told me that a car licence definately covers you for riding q three wheeled scooter - the ones with two wheels at the front. He then said it also covered you for a trike (the type with a motorcycle front end and car type back end) but was uncertain about motorcycle combinations (but felt they were if they had reverse - e.g. Ural).
What is the definitive answer? Read more
From what I can make out it would seem that a car licence covers trikes (two wheels front or back) but not motorcycle combinations. I think I will pop into the local motorcycle shop as thay also arrange CBT/etc. and if they do not know definitely will knoew a man who does. Strangely I have two groups on my photo licence that were not on the list - L & N!
When driving, my speedometer goes haywire and then the gearbox starts changing up and down as if trying to search for the correct gear, one of a few results, is that when it does decide on a gear to drive in, it seems to be third only, giving me 3500 rpm at 40mph(ish!?)
So far been given conflicting info as to possible problem, but getting NO "ABS" or "Check Engine" warning lights.

i bought the car off a friend. he had a new full fitted the car has done about 25,000 on the new clutch. but when you drive it the gear change is verry hard two engage the gears. but when you drive the car it drives verry well no slipping or anything.i have bled the clutch and the is no leeks. it seams that it needs about an extra 1/2 inch clearance. i have checked the pedal and the is about a 1 inch travel befor you get any pressure is the any adjustment on the pedal. any one got any ideas thanks Read more

A bit late but only noticed this now. I have the same car and it idles higher than that, maybe about 750-800 rpm. It's closer to 1000 with the air con on.
Hope you got it sorted in the end
