hi,has anyone have the problem of seat belts not returning home after they are unclicked,,,i have to feed mine home every time i un buckle,,is it possible to strenghthen up the return spring,?????? Read more
If you use silicone / silicon spray (as opposed to silicone / silicon grease, or the stuff you use on dashboards) then it won't leave behind any sticky residue. If using furniture polish, then rub the belts over with a tissue or cloth afterwards to remove any excess polish.
Anyone know of an independent Mazda specialist in Northern Ireland?

Hi,
I am after abit of advice. I currently need a diesel car but don't have much money, and a Rover 220SD Turbo has come up. Its done 77k with FSH and in very good condition for £800.
I've read the carbycar, and it doesn't seem at all bad, only thing is is that there are 2 keys but only one remote fob. The seller says that they only ever come with one.
Does this matter? And what do people think of Rovers?
Cheers

Have been given a couple of gallons of Millers XF Longlife 5w30 Fully synthetic, would this be ok using this in my Fiesta?. I have always used the normal ford semi synthetic oil but if this is going to be ok i might as well make use of it.

Thats what i was thinking, usually do an oil change every 10k so will stick to that, wasnt expecting it to last any longer, im guessing the engine is designed for the lonlife servies as much as the oil is.
Cheers
Hi all, just had my head machined and fitted new gasket and fitted head onto location dowells. The Haynes then says refit the rocker assembly to head. There are small locating dowells in each pedestal. The end ones fit ok but the remainder are NOT sitting flat with the cylinder head. and refuse to sit down flat by approx.y 0.5mm. I've tried backing off the valve adjustor screws but this does not help.
Any advice graatefully received.
Thanks,

Good advice number cruncher, I'll double check that I've backed off ALL the adjustors
before I torque up head bolts through the Rocker Assembly!

As we probably suspected, there appears to be a wide variation on how insurers treat claims. How far should one go in preventing a claim being rejected?

BUMPERS...
don't forget the escorts....
I had a mk2 and mk3 escort, both had metal bumpers the mk3 with plastic ends, and both where the same, front and rear.
I have just, this week sold my 2001 320d, what I found a little surprising was that despite 148k on the clock, there was genuine interest.
I priced it at £3250 ono. and did a deal at a little under 3k. I had the car for a little over 5 years and put 100,000 on the clock. As I had bought from a dealer at 13k the depreciation runs out at 10p/mile. The car had been trouble free all through out my ownership.
The replacement? another E46,320d SE, an '05, one of the last before they were replaced by the E90.
I bought privately at £6250 and the interesting aspect is that at 3+ years it has cost well under half the amount I paid in 2003 for my first BMW, though the mileage is quite a lot higher.

I have a similar aged Audi A4 (2002) with 150,000 miles and was surprisingly offered just over 3K as trade in a couple of weeks ago. Its amazing how much someone is prepared to pay for high mileage BMWs/Audi's etc!!
'GLAZIER Paul Kerfoot has been banned from fixing a cop shop?s windows because he has been done for speeding.
A snotty letter told him he could not work for the police because they were ?committed to the maintenance of high levels of honesty and integrity?.
Yesterday dad-of-three Paul, 55, who has nine points on his licence after three speeding offences, fumed: ?I?m a respectable citizen and have never been in trouble with the law.
?The only time I?ve been in a cop shop is to work for them. It is ridiculous to be treated as a criminal because of points on your licence.?
The letter went on: ?Travelling over the prescribed speed limit exponentially increases the risk of death or serious injury.?
But Paul, of Mansfield, Notts, said: ?I?m being denied a chance to earn a living. I know of policemen with points who do not lose their jobs.?
He added: ?Their letter implies I?m dishonest, have no integrity, and am unethical and unprofessional.?
Last night a Nottinghamshire police spokesman said there was ?a national vetting policy for the police community? but they could not comment on individual cases.'
This part struck a chord.'But Paul, of Mansfield, Notts, said: ?I?m being denied a chance to earn a living. I know of policemen with points who do not lose their jobs.?'

So is he a specialist 'police windows only' type of glazier?
Where does he say that? Technically he is being denied a chance to earn a wage. He might get offered another chance, cop shop or not, and take it.
