Hi
I've changed an alternator on a VW Golf 94 a while back, with a haynes manual, but my dear mother in law has asked to sort her alternator out, and there is no manual with the car, hence my question.
Does anyone have a relatively good idea or diagram that they might share with me on how to do this? Its also a Diesel, which I believe means the alternator is a bit lower down and harder to get at.
Thanks to anyone who can help

Following a recent bad luck spate of punctures (three in two weeks!), I've managed to end up with tyres having different load ratings at the back of my Volvo S80.
One is a Pirelli P6000 215/55 R 16 93W (the 'standard' load rating for this vehicle), whilst the other is a Dunlop SP Sport 01 215/55 R 16 97W - an 'extra load' variant, usually specified for MPV-type applications.
It doesn't bother me that the tyres are of different makes, but I'd like to know whether the different load ratings constitute a legal 'issue'. Read more
I doubt it, but....
If they are not of the same structure ( other than X ply/radial etc and not defined) then they should not be mixed and should be be on the same axle.
ASgain, and clutching straws they should be suitable having regard to the use to which the vehicle is being put or to the types of tyres fitted to its other whewels

How wasn't this detected by DVLA?

DVD I don't think that we are talking about 'doctored' licences but ones fraudulently obtained as duplicates or by non-existent people ie genuine but illegal. Does Sharon in Essex not report to DVLA that she has written 3 points + SP30 on an individual's licence? I have 3 points on my licence - if I rang DVLA or my employer contacted them to ask about the state of my licence would have they have knowledge of the points applied in Essex?
I note that Lidl, from the 5th Feb are selling a nozzle for a vacuum cleaner for £2.92.
It is a thin tube that fits on the end of the normal hose and makes it easier to reach the parts that other do not.
It beats my "adapter " made with lashings of Duck tape.

depends on whether you jack the car up to do the lower part of the tread too :-)

I do the same journey every day to work, I presume others on the road are doing the same. 6:30 am. I use the left hand, empty lane, others don't, because, I think, it's marked as a bus lane AFTER 07:00! There are some new roadworks appeared, with a big blue Left Arrow. Motorists head for the sign and turn left into the left lane when the at the arrow, why? The bus lane is not in force. Read more
Yes he did, it was on TV years ago.

I have a small budget of £4,000 and am not sure if to go for a Mazda 5 or Honda Accord all 55 plate or newer. I was told that the Mazda 6 does handle better on the road than the accord but the Accord has a much better finish build quality though the Accord has too much road noise.
also where would be the cheapest place to buy (Auction or private)
what kind of prices can I expect to pay for a 55 plate Honda/Mazda
any advice would be much appreciated.
