Six feet deep now . Plus another two feet tomorrow?

I visited Niagra many years ago during February but avoided this sort of problems.
Being driven around seeing the results of an ice storm made me thankful I was not driving.

However I was able to walk on the ice, on the river, near the base of the falls.
I bet HSE does not permit that these days.

car is 1997 Honda civic 1.4 petrol

The problem is all 3-rear brakelights and the horn are not working at all.

I have checked the fuses, the horn and brakelights operate on the same fuse, but the fuse is ok.

Can anyone offer any help/ advice as to the problem?

I would check all fuses for continuity .It is possible that the fuse location is not correct against the fuse legend on the cover.Don't forget these have 2 fuse boxes, one in cabin and one in engine bay near battery.

Hi,
I've had this car for almost 2 years. Its a 1994 polo, 1 litre. When I first bought the car, it had a simliar problem which got fixed after changing the distributor. Although the problem seems identical it also does different things. I don't know if its the cold January/Febuary weather because it was the same time last year it had the problem.
It happens every now and then, the revs will drop up and down then it will cut out / or nothing out of the ordinary will happen and it will still just cut out. It seems if i sit there for about 20 minutes it may start again.
However the difference to the problem before is that sometimes it might not start at all, and it needs a jump start, and when it ticks over the battery sounds like its going to die. Although I haven't had the last part of the problem for a little while ( I did change the alternator as the break down man told me too) Maybe i'm having different probs at the same time!!
I've heard that polo's and some other VW's are prone to this kind of problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions, I've changed the spark plugs, alternator, and battery.

Any help will be very helpful!

Rememebr to check the ignition module near the bulkhead. A lot of them will be cracked and allow water to get in.

Worth have a look..

Any attempts to steer around? Or wouldn't that make good video?

I have decided I want one of my spare bedroom 'back'. It is currently bursting at the seams with old car magazines. Mainly, Motor, Autocar & Car, from the 70s, 80s & 90s. They're all in pretty good nick & I'm reluctant to just throw them away.

Does anybody know of any car club in the Manchester area that would benefit from them (gratis), or any other good home for them?

Thanks Read more

I received an email warning that specs speed cams have or are being installed at Blackwall Tunnell approach Nth & Sth bound. No speed cam warning signs are being put up. Apparently they just want our hard earned cash £60. No penatly points on Licence. Speed limit afaik is 30mph nth bound and 40MPH goin' sth.I cannot verify authenticity of email but be warned all the same guys.

I didn't realise that drivers had no accidents in the Blackwall tunnel. Wonder why they bothered to upgrade the emergency provisions then?

I'm geting stuck in the mess caused by these roadworks in Gateshead everyday. The local authority has them listed as 'carriage widening' but this seems rather unlikely as it is a normal two lane carriageway (albeit a 50mph zone). Why would we need wider than normal lanes here (the 6 months of chaos don't seem worth it)

I suspect a bus lane will magically appear along here - does anyone know what the plans are? Read more

Hello!
I'm new to this forum and in need of help;
Does anyone know the price of an ABS speed sensor to above mensioned car. Left front wheel.
See, I live in Sweden and it's outragosly expensive here. About 400 euros!?
What's the price in UK? (or anywhere else in the world)

Or does anyone know of a good dismantler/breaker that ship to Sweden?

Hoping for some useful advises!!

Oops sorry about the Trooper confusion.
I agree with SpamCam, their site and email are not great, but they can get any part for less than the dealer if you telephone them.
It's only a small company, so they don't have a great online store.

Following my burning oil thread, I have realised that is has not been burning oil at all but its steam and thats why it gets worse as the engine heats up.

I took off the rocker cover to find lots of creamy mayo in it, and the radiator header tank looks a tiny bit contaminated.

I am not sure what to do, I am not taking this car in to be fixed, I will just either have to live with it (its not drinking much coolant yet) or pray K-SEAL fixes it.

I have also never seen the fan kick in, so I am guessing this has failed and caused the HG failure :( I feel like a fool. Also when trying to fix the temp gauge I discovered the reason it dosn't work is because its been disconnected on purpose :( The thermostat is at least still connected.

PS Its a Fiesta 1.1

To be honest if K seal dosn't do the trick I am selling the car ASAP. My only concern is shouldn't a HG failure been picked up at service?

Unlike other engines, a head gasket change is ultra-simple and quick but I have never heard of a head gasket failing on one of these engines unless someone has been running it with no coolant in it.
