I'm geting stuck in the mess caused by these roadworks in Gateshead everyday. The local authority has them listed as 'carriage widening' but this seems rather unlikely as it is a normal two lane carriageway (albeit a 50mph zone). Why would we need wider than normal lanes here (the 6 months of chaos don't seem worth it)
I suspect a bus lane will magically appear along here - does anyone know what the plans are?
