Anyone have one of these? Had mine 3 months and 3000 miles now - doing 39 mpg overall, bit lower per gallon than I had hoped for. Mixed usage so far, average run is over 9 miles minimum with some longer journeys. It may loosen up a bit more yet, but does anyone else run one and know what mpg they're getting?
DSG box is great, little bit lumpy at low speeds but great to live with. Pleased with the car overall. Read more
I have a 2001 3 litre auto model and have been told that the car has two pollen filters. Can anyone confirm this and if correct , please tell me where they are, how often they should be changed and how difficult a job is it?

i got my new nissan note today and had asked the dealer to fit a towbar on it. when i collected it i was told that a towbar couldnt be fitted as nissan had withdrawn their towbar from sale because of design faults.
i phoned several towbar fitters and they all said they dont know what towbar will fit as its a new car. surely as this car has been around for 3 months now and a part must have been fitted before.
as this is the same floorplan as the modus and clio would their towbars fit.. i really only need the bar and not the electrics as the trailer is very small and only used to carry a wheelchair when we all go out as a family.

i phoned towequipe and they say its special order 4weeks. so i'll have to wait.
when i ordered the car i forgot about the towbar and sent them an email a few weeks later asking them to add a towbar, i didnt tell them why.
they phoned me back saying they've ordered the towbar. they saiad that two days before me getting the car they checked back with nissan and were told about design problems.
i'll speak to the dealer this morning and see what they can do.

sorry it is easy but is a bit more involved than 2 spanners,
Honestly if you are not mechanically minded the top price should be £120 and if you live in a large northern area im sure a backstreet garage could do it for even less ...........

Got a strange clonk developing in the rear suspension of my 01 ZR. It occurs when the suspension bottoms out after a speed hump for example and sounds a bit as if the spare wheel might be causing the base of the spare wheel carrier to 'ping' but I do not think this is the cause. Anyone had any rear suspension problems with this model? Read more
This seller certainly knows how to create clicks...wonder if he'll get top price as a result?

I was actually tempted.
Merrily on my way home the other night along the A30 I am following a foriegn registered car. The fella driving has his mobile up by his ear and totally ignores a red traffic light and goes on his way. Mobiles and driving are really dangerous but where oh where are the boys in blue? You see so much dangerous driving and they get away with itmost of the tim as far as I can see. Read more

Not so. Wife has got foreign licence. Wife talks foreign. Wife gets tickets.
Hi,
Citroen are doing a special offer deal at the moment, cash-back and £800 trade-in, so under £8K brand new.
Would be interested in any owner comments, especially on reliability and comfort.

Hello again
Further to Hawkeye's post, we have the is it or isn't it central locking. We just don't leave anything of value in the car now.
Further to RichProc's post - yeah the brakes are severe until you get used to them
All,
i've just put new b/e bearings in my vw golf mk 3 1.8 SPi, it's done about 250k, the old ones were worn at the no4 end of the engine, but in good condition at the no1 end, here's a pic:
www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95692
It seems strange that the wear is minimal at one end of the engine, then progressively worse towards the other (no4 cylinder) any ideas what may be causing this, and any predictions for the state of the crank, and hence life left in the block??
TIA Mark Read more
>> looking at the biggest picture it looks like the bearing may
have worn too far and marked the crank?
I'm not too sure, it's all back together now.
was crank clean on
journal with no scoring?
YES

August Whatcar has a review of the Altea 2.0 TDi DSG they averaged 43 mpg over 23,000 miles (lowest mpg 30 he must have miscalculated that trip, or left it running and gone nowhere for hours!). I have the A3 with the same set up and over the last 3,500 miles have achieved a similar figure with predominantly urban journeys. The new 2.0TDi isn't as frugal as the venerable 1.9 TDi units.
Another issue with the Whatcar review was the front tyres - worn out after 10,000 miles and journo reckons he hasn't thrashed it! He blames the high torque of the engine, but with DSG wheel spinning antics should be a thing of the past. The A3 has done 21,500 and the original Michelins still have plenty left.
