MG HS (2020–)
MG HS on sale now
A budget alternative to the Nissan Qashqai and Skoda Karoq, the MG HS is priced from £17,995 and is on sale now.
On the outside, MG says the HS has been designed to look 'purposeful and sporty', with the latest iteration of MG's grille at the front and twin tailpipes with an aluminium lower bumper at the rear.
Inside, there's a well-appointed driving position and roomy seats. MG claims class-leading shoulder-, hip- and head-room with soft-touch materials 'in all the right places'. Piano key buttons, turbine design air vents and soft-touch door cards are pleasingly tactile, says MG, while rear seat passengers get reclining seats, two USB sockets and a fold-out arm rest.
The HS is powered by MG's 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 162PS paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT automatic transmission.
The entry level Explore model features include 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry with push button start, a 10.1-inch colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and electric folding and heated door mirrors.
The mid-level Excite version is available from £20,495 and adds a rear parking camera, 18-inch alloy wheels, rain sensing wipers and navigation. Top-spec Exclusive is available from £22,995 with a choice of two leather interiors (black or red and black), front and rear LED sequential indicators, electrically adjustable heated sports front seats, dual zone climate control, ambient lighting and a panoramic opening Skyroof. DCT versions also include driving modes including Super Sport and a customisable electronic opening tailgate.
On sale now with customer deliveries starting in November, the HS joins the MG3, ZS and ZS EV in MG's range. It's also backed by MG's seven-year warranty.
