Does the kia Sportage suffer with failing fuel filters?

Can you tell me if failing fuel filters on the Kia Sportage is an ongoing problem?

As far as I know the problem is not the fuel filters, it's the fuel. The biofuel element in diesel contains more water than fossil diesel and this can emulsify, blocking the filter. So the finer the filter and the more protection it provides to the high pressure pump, the more likely it is to get blocked by emulsified diesel.

This should not happen at all in summer temperatures, though, and is most likely to happen in winter. The big problem was last October when we got a very cold snap before the oil companies had switched over to winter diesel that has anti waxing properties.
