Why has Jaguar disabled the charge to 80% feature on the I-Pace?
Recent correspondence on HJ referred to only charging your EV to keep it in the sweet spot of 20 to 80%, which I understand and practice with our Tesla Model 3 long range as it's very easy to set on the app. Our Jaguar I-Pace however is less easy, having enquired with JLR it appears they've disabled the setting of this within the car's software and the app doesn't work either. so this becomes difficult to manage when charging cheap rate over night so constantly goes to 100%, Jaguar don't seem bothered about this, should we be?

It is disappointing that this feature has been disabled, as charging your battery to 100% every day won't necessarily cause damage, but ultimately it is likely to contribute to the lifespan of the battery being reduced. However there are some possible workarounds that would allow you to limit the charge to 80%. You may be able to limit the charge by changing the setting in the vehicle's infotainment menu via the EV app on the apps screen if you go into the battery menu. Some owners have used third party apps that allow control of the charge state, and you can always set the limit on your charger home.
