Why does my Honda Jazz over rev?

I have a 71 plate Honda Jazz Hybrid. Sometimes it seems to over rev. It can be quite off putting. Have you heard of this?

The over-revving you are experiencing is almost certainly nothing to worry about. Your Jazz is fitted with a CVT automatic transmission, and when accelerating hard the engine spins up to a high engine speed, which is likely the over-revving you mention. This is nothing to worry about as it is how the car is designed to operate.

If you are still concerned we would suggest visiting your dealer to have the car checked over.
