Would you buy a diesel car?

If you were looking for a new or newish SUV with a view to keeping it over ten years, would you still buy a diesel?

It depends what you want to use it for, really. If you live in a city centre or regularly drive into one, you'd be better looking for a petrol, hybrid or electric car. If you cover a lot of motorway miles or plan to tow a trailer, a diesel still makes a lot of sense.
