Car alignment fixed however... - fendertele

Got my Alignment fixed and it drives perfectly straight, the issue was the steer ahead was off and the car was driving to the right when the wheel was centered, but since the alignment fix it now feels like the front left side sits slightly lower.

Now i have done a measurement from the bottom of the tyre to the bottom of the wheel arch and both sides are equal.

Could the uneven tyre wear from the car being out of alignment cause such a sensation ?

It's most likely just the fact that it feels different because it is different.

You were used to the alignment being 'out'. Now it's been rectified, you'll need to get used to it being the way it is.

Much like if someone changes their glasses prescription, it'll 'feel' wrong until you get used to the new ones.

it was only out for 300 miles could that cause much tyre wear ?

Depends how much it was out by, I guess.

I would concur, it it was out far enough it could wreck a tyre in 300 miles.

damn it was camber and caster that was out... the caster is still out.

Camber and castor angle errors will not wear a tyre very rapidly but toe in will. Most cars don't have adjustable camber and castor angles unless they are something exotic, errors in this department are usually caused by damage or wear.

They don't need to be exotic these days to have more adjustment points, particularly the rear suspension - even the huge number of cars with strut front suspension can often get eccentric bolts to get the camber spot on.

I'm getting really frustrated now, everytime i've left the alignment shop the car has felt much better but within the time i get back home it goes back out somewhere and i don't know how to explain it to the guy.

The car drives straight and has no noticeable pull, it is more in the feeling of how the car sits/feels on the road like a lean to the left, i can feel it through the steering wheel if it makes any sense ?

I have noticed when i take sharp turns where the tyres slide a tiny bit, when i come out of the turn something moves and either goes back in or back out of alignment.

Could it be the camber shifting ? or something loose ?

Sounds like a broken road spring.
