Ford Focus squeak 14 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Its definitely not occurred before and its becoming more noticable, is there a washer that needs replacing? I've taken it to Ford this morning to have it checked out, but I'm half expecting them to say its 'normal' - but it definitely isn't. Any ideas? Thanks Aaron -
Ford fiesta engine stalls at junction 9 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Hi Guys My r-reg fiesta with endura e- engine developed a similar problem, it started to stall when approacing junctions (when the clutch is depresed), took it to Ford garage and they replaced HEGO sensor, worked fine for two months but the problem came back so had to take it back, they were unable to find any fault so they recalibrated the engine and updated the software. -

servicing a Ford Focus 20 Aug 2004 (Forum)
For the second service which appears just to be changing oil & filter and checking/topping up of fluids I just took it to a local indepependant (not ford specialist) and he seemed to do an ok job at an ok price. I'm minded to use an independant again but was wondering if any special kit is needed for the servicing, in particular a diagnostic computer. -
Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.6 '03 Locked Steerin 12 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I have a 2003 Ford Fiesta 1.6 Ghia and when I pull away quickly (say at a busy mini roundabout) the steering 'feels' like it is locking giving the sensation of driving along tramlines. Over the past year I have encountered this 3 or 4 times and on each occasion it was whilst accelerating with the steering turned to the left. -
Help! - Focus TDCi Tuned 23 Jan 2004 (Forum)
My question is will it have done the engine any damage, and does this affect the Ford warranty? Also, would the engine management need any sort of reprogramming if the Powerbox is taken off? (10 min job allegedly) Can Ford tell if a car has had a Powerbox fitted then removed? I could do with a quick answer on this guys. -

Ford Mondeo Zetec Estate 2.0l- litre 18 Jun 2003 (Forum)
There is a full service history available and the car has been regularly serviced at the proper intervals by a Ford dealer. It drives beautifully and is incredibly quiet - not even a tiny rattle to be heard. It has had a new cam belt and pulley kit but we wonder whether at this age it is likely to have anything major go wrong with it imminently. -
ford warranty still valid ? 10 Mar 2003 (Forum)
I just bought a 18 month old Ford Focus Zetec 1.6, seems like a nice car, pleased with it, you may have already read about it under thread 'auction prices'. I'm wondering if the warranty is still valid, not that there is a problem, I'm just trying to decide whether to get a main dealer service or take it to a local non independant 'spit and sawdust' place. -
Mk. IV Ford Fiesta 1.8 Diesel 24 Jan 2003 (Forum)
Just bought a Mk. IV Ford Fiesta 1.8 Diesel and have noticed a problem - Upon acceleration, the engine sometimes hesitates (a flat spot), and smoke pours out of the exhaust. After a few seconds, the smoke stops and the car accelerates away fine. -

Two Strokes - the sequel 5 Jun 2002 (Forum)
The latest edition of Practical Classics has a feature on two-strokes, and also an article about a magnificent vintage style car powered by a Commer opposed-piston two-stroke diesel. One interesting point from the article - apparently the reason the Ford Ka ended up with the old all-iron crossflow motor which dated back to the Ford Anglia was that it was designed around a compact new two-stroke motor. When this project was canned at a very late stage, the faithful old crossflow was the only Ford engine which would fit in the Ka engine bay. -
