  Looking at going to Leeds in July so I thought I'd look at advance train fairs. For three adult one 14 yearold and two under 5's it came to nearly  £400. It wouldn't even cost 1/4 of that in fuel. How can they justify the price of train travel and expect you to not use the car if the cost is so prohibitively expensive.

  It is a 1.2 ELX Mk2 and the heater fan does not work but when I turn on the fan the exterior lights come on!!. Help please this is driving me mad. Kenny 49 s

  As seems likely (to me at least) will people being put off Golf's and A3's mean that my planned purchase of a 2.0 TDCi Focus will cost me more? Are there any other implications I should consider before finally deciding on a (two year old) diesel Focus?

  In the 70's I needed a second car to get to work and paid £300 cash for a Simca 1100. It gave good service and was quite reliable and comfortable although a few of my Army mates had a good mickey take. kept it for a couple of years and got my money back in px.

  I'm looking to buy an 03/04 Avensis in T3-S, T4 or spirit trim levels. I much prefer the newer touchscreen sat nav instead of the old style step by step system that will be on whatever i get. Does anyone know if the new system can retrofiited ?

  Read the article in the DT http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/safety/6582568/Night-vision-for-cars.html Looks a great idea and it says it is fitted to S Class - which suggests Mega Bucks - it is actually under £1500! On that basis it might be Joe Public / Mondeo man's accessory in the near future Would you buy it @ say £750?

  'New Tricks' last night showed a successful stereotype of a 60's comedian ( Bernard Manning type ) in the present day leaving his huge detached house with his golf clubs . He then proceeded to put them in the boot of a ....??? Not what I would expect such a person to drive Clue - it was not a Rolls Royce or Jaguar.... ......

  I have been looking at s/hand C'eeds and there is quite a good selection around in the £6.5 - £8K range. Some say the i30 is a better car, but I think the C;eed looks much classier. A recurring theme though is approx 13,000 miles on the clock.

  I've been toying with the idea of chopping in the Cooper S (05/05) for a new one. The local dealer offered me £2K under what the car is valued by Parker's and 'the other' price guide - and, incidentally, wouldn't budge. How reliable are these price guides that Joe Public can buy?

  My Son ( presently living in the USA, has purchased a S/H Subaru Forrester and there is no middle rear seat, seat belt. Is this a US thing or does the UK version also not have the middle belt. Regards and Merry Christmas Peter D

  Can anyone suggest an online website where I can find the outline to make up a headlamp beam deflector(s) for a VW Golf Mk4 - for driving in France. Unlike certain other manufacturers there is no template in the handbook. I know all I need is some black tape in the right place.
