Positive (only) aspects of UK motoring 16 Feb 2010 (Forum)
You can see where Heath and Safety regulations come from when you consider that, as it was the same here a few decades back and car manufacturers thought nothing of harm to drivers or others in car design. Traffic just chokes the streets in Tacloban and it`s a free for all. It`s pretty good, motoring in the UK - although the `negative feeding` personalities of many people cause the generation of tabloid rubbish that is eagerly lapped up as `truth` The question is - can a 100 post thread be generated that`s entirely positive about UK motoring? -
2019 Peugeot 2008 1.2puretechEAT6 130 - Progress report, oil usage 30 Apr 2023 (Forum)
I shall continue with my 10k regime. It takes around one litre to raise the level from minimum through 40mm to the max mark on the dipstick, around 25mls per mm. I had put in exactly 3.5l at 10,000 miles to reach the max mark. The pre-drain level was almost exactly half way, so around 500mls was burnt over 10,000 miles equating to a consumption of 1litre per 20,000 miles, give or take say 10% observer error. -

Mazda Mazda 6 (2008 -) - 08 2.0D increasing & maintaining speed on its own 30 Dec 2011 (Forum)
The speed i was travelling was approx. 65 MPH and then suddenly i noticed the car speeding up by its self so my instant reaction thought the car mat may be stuck on the gas but it wasnt, i was increasly getting closer to a roundabout (700yrds) and hit 100mph and the revs was stuck on complete max over 6,000 revs so the next thing i done was to switch off the engine and i see a slip road so i dramatically swerved over luckily not hitting any cars or flipping over & finally came to a stop!! (whilst my engine was off) I waited 2 hours for RAC to arrive & to check my car and he said to me that the oil has been overfilled to past the max (on the dipstick it was near the top of the stick) and that may cause the problem.
