Nissan Micra 1998 - Dim Main Beam 13 Mar 2013 (Forum)
I checked the earth connection although I imagined the earth was Ok since the other lights are Ok. the earth connection was Ok although I cleaned them anyway. Could anyone tell me what the amperage should be for the bulbs I thought it would be max 15amps. Would I be right ? The voltage was around 11.2V with the engine at standstill. Also could anybody advise what the problem could be ? Thanks Patrick -

Volkswagen Golf IV (1998 - 2004) - 00 1.9 TDI 115 strange coolant behaviour?!! 15 Oct 2012 (Forum)
Strange this is... my TDI golf flashed a warning to stop and check coolant. the engine temp was near the 130 mark. pulled over and put the heater on max and the fan too to try and help cool the car. looking under the bonnet at the expansion tank and it was full to bursting! (checked regually allways at the reccomended marked level) Got back into the car and the fan was blowing cold air (air con was off!!) -

Cost effective small automatic 13 Jan 2010 (Forum)
my question is, what would be a good small auto to drive locally that is relatively cheap to run, insure, relaible and safe and max spend about 4/5k plus insurance. the new micra is used by many driving schools - and appears to have a commanding driving position - so i'm assuming this meets our criteria. Anyothers/ thanks in advance! -

UK car in Europe, how long? 1 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Everyone says 6 months, but is that continous, total for a year, total for ever? I spoke with the Swedish authorities and they said max 6 months continous, but only for cars from outside the EU. As long as it's insured min. 3rd paerty, taxed and MOT'd, and from another EU state, they didn't seem to think it was a problem to stay as long as you like. -
diesel ecu re chip boxes 11 May 2007 (Forum)
hi all, having a brain block with the wording of the thread. anyway i recieved a package in the post of a mate of mine. basically im using my c max as a recce/service vehicle for a rally team. they pay well! so ive upgraded the discs, pads, springs, dampers on order and ive just ordered some braided hoses from germany. im making some under floor guards too. anyway back to the package> in it was a black box which when plumbed into the fuelling/ecu harness apparently adds 20 bhp and around 50 nm of torque. anyone had any mod like this fitted to their diesel motors? -
406 Fuel Filter 21 Feb 2007 (Forum)

fiat punto 52 plate 1.2 dynamic 14 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Travelling on M1, aprx 70 mph - the engine coughed and sputtered twice, engine mngment light came on/fuel pump on dash (yellow) then foot down could only go 40/50 mph, any type of gradient only reaching max 30mph. I managed to get to my destination eventually. Had it towed to Fiat dealers tonight - anyone any ideas of what it could be, cost and why? Just so I don't go into the dealers looking like pound signs. -
Noisy Rover 414 when cold 17 Nov 2005 (Forum)
He only did short runs in it & the engine seems noisy when started from cold & for the first couple of miles from cold. The cam belt was changed at 5 years (20k miles) My father used to do 50mph max. Last night, I got the engine hot with a 30 mile run before driving for 6 miles on a motorway in 3rd at 6000 rpm, it felt a lot better after that but still seems noisy when starting from cold & going up through the gears until it warms up. -

Can I dig my way out of this one? 5 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I was 'clocked' last Monday evening at around 8:30pm doing 58 on an extremely innocuous and not at all dangerous (ie. no side entry roads whatsoever on this stretch between the two roundabouts) bit of 50MPH max dual-carriageway by a mobile unit in West Yorkshire! Received the paperwork in the post yesterday and they've misspelt my middle name ? its actually Grahame (with an E on the end) exactly as it appears on my driving licence, however, they've used Graham! -
What constitutes an insurance mod 23 Jun 2005 (Forum)
Are these "factory fitted" options considered by insurance companies as "modifications". I'm not talking about 12ft bat wing spoilers and 27 inch alloys the max power boys do. Just factory fitted stuff. This scenario becomes more difficult to identify the options if you are buying 2nd hand. How would you know that the BMW you are looking to buy has lowered suspension and a Ltd Slip Diff. -
Power Steering Fluid Top up 29 May 2005 (Forum)
I check my power steering fuid about once every month, I needed to top it up last night for the first time. It only took about an egg cup full to bring it from min on the stick to max. Two things, where would I loose the fluid to. Serviced the car last saturday and there was no evidence of leakage. Secondly, when I bought the new fluid from Seat, I was advised this fluid should be changed every two years.
