  I have an F-super 2 diagnostic but it doesn't recognise my ECU, I have tracked the unit and it is a standard Ford unit although seems to be 2002 spec, I have a feeling these late 2004 models were a collection of old bits before they changed engines the following year.Have looked at some of the sensors but nothing obvious.

  Luckily nothing disastrous happened but her new job involves lots of driving and she specifically wants a car that won't let her down.Following tests Ford are shipping in a brand new engine from Germany to be fitted this week which at face value seems like good efficient service but now we're beginning to wonder. My question is how does the fitting of a new engine work in terms of marrying up paperwork matching engine VIN numbers etc and would this be likely to affect the resale value,  what happens to the mileage indicator.

• Ford Focus - Focus developed a whine 17 Feb 2013 (Forum)
  Have a late 2007 Focus Titanium 2.0 TDCI. It's got 85k on the clock and we've had it from nearly new and kept up a full ford service history.  Over the last week or so I've noticed it develop a high pitched whine which is most obvious in low gears though I think it does happen in high gears but it's largely blocked out by road noise (either than or I'm paranoid).

  This is my first post and I am hoping that there is someone on this forum that has seen the inside of a Ford Zetec 1.25 engine. Whilst changing the timing belt on our Fiesta I had some difficulty torque loading the crankshaft pulley bolt, during the first attempt my homemade pulley locking tool failed and the engine turned about 1/8th of a rotation.

  Last year all 4 injectors went and they were replaced along with an egr valve and maf sensor. I would take it to a ford dealer but with labour rates circa £50 an hour its not something I can afford to do. I would appreciate an advice in solving this intermittment fault. Thanks in advance.

  The car felt like it had a fuel problem, as if running out of petrol, and wouldn't go above 50mph. The main Ford main dealer hooked it up to their test equipment today, and diagnosed fault P04304 - misfire on cylinder 4. They replaced one plug lead and all 4 plugs, and reset the ECU. Needless to say, tonight the car was little better.

  I have a ford escort van 1.8 diesel in the last week it has started acting up if you let it idle for a while the engine will start running rough then stall it sounds like there is a noise coming from the clutch housing,sometimes there is no accelleration foot on the floor in first gear doing 5 mph then all of a sudden it kicks in and your off like a rocket,when it stalls it starts again and it runs ok for a while,I had the filter housing changed last year as it had a leak and had a new tank fitted as the old one had rust holes in it,so I am not sure what to do,I tried taking it for a run on the motorway thinking it had some kind of blockage and it seemed to work but now its doing its thing again.so not sure where to start

  Some times the revs will drop and the car will shudder slightly (almost as if the clutch isn't all the way down, when it is), sometimes the revs will drop and the battery light will flash on, and on a few occasions the revs have dropped and engine has completely cut out. Ford garage can't find any faults with it and haven't been able to replicate the fault. I managed to film the battery light flashing on and revs dropping which I showed them as evidence. They still cannot find a fault when there clearly is one.

  Hi i have a Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI 2005. The problem that i am having is when i turn the Heater Blower on 1-4 the fan comes to a complete stop within 15 seconds. I had been reading in a forum of a guy who had a simular problem and he was suggested that it could be the Heater Blower resister Pack that is attached to the side of the blower.

  Could it be cross interference with similar vehicles parked by or mobile phone/mast interference(last week I was parked right under a massive o2 mast and it played up). Ive spoke to Ford Servicing but as usual its a 'bring it in for us to look at' response Any help much appreciated Thanks

  I have an old Ford Fiesta thats done 120k, the handbrake had been very poor recently and after some failed attempts to fix it I bit the bullet and both the drums and shoes yesterday. The handbrake now works great (hurray!)

  I brought a 2006 MK6 1.6 Ford Fiesta TDCi with 46k miles on the clock from Autoquake. Anyway I declined their warranty as it doesnt even cover for wear and tear. I am looking for an 3 year extended warranty. Warranty Direct called me and gave me a reduced quote from the web one when I mentioned it seemed expensive.

  While I was complaining another customer came over and stated that this same nozzle had broken his Ford diesel filler two weeks earlier. I went into the same garage this morning and still nothing has been done, not even an "out of order" tag on the hose. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that he was busy and I would have to wait for 20 min.

    Eventually got a mechanic to come tonight (6th January 11) and he managed to jump start it for about 30 seconds at a time, was running really lumpy for the few seconds and just cut out again.  He thinks it may need a ford fault reader on it (?)  Thing is, can't get it to a garage 'cos it doesn't actually run!!   Does anybody have any ideas what this fault might be?  The car ran perfectly until it was left sittiing in the cold and now it's nearly 3weeks since it ran and tonight's the first time anyone has managed to get it to "catch" at all.

  Hello my ford mondeo is using water ,and i have to refill the header tank every fortnite to 3 weeks,ive looked in the oil chamber and their is no sign of water getting in there ,i have no leak as ive checked the floor ,and ive checked the hoses and there is no damaged ones ,but in the cold weather it seems a little sluggish untill ive gone a few miles ,it doesnt pull very well ,but it starts first time ,i have noticed when i turn the key to the first notch i hear a rush of water like a glugging sound then i turn the engine and all is fine ,i havent noticed any smoke out the exhaust so its a little baffling as to where it is going ,could this be the start of head gasket trouble hmmm im not sure  ..my mondeo is a y reg 2001 i think and a 1.7 5 door estate ..apart from that its a great motor ..if it is head gasket trouble how long possibly will it last ..thankyou ..
• 1998 Ford Windstar - ABS light and trac warning light comes on 29 Sep 2010 (Forum)
  The brakes operate normally but if an icy  road should turn up and I need the ABS system to function properly, I will probably be in trouble.. I can't seem to find a new reluctor wheel as Ford evidently doesn't manufacture them any longer. My best choice seems to be to replace the entire half axle as a new axle comes with a new reluctor wheel. Any one else ever have this problem?

  Hi all, Over the last few weeks I've noticed a strong smell of exhaust fumes in my ford focus (diesel). It is most apparent when I am stationary and I get a very strong smell of it when I park up and get out, so it's definitely me!
