BerlingoBerlingo - Citroen steering knock 1 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Please read my previous post on this but basically (Aug 2013-present) a knock developed from what seemed to be my steering rack and over many months the n/s/f tracking would go out and pull to the left, so had the tracking reset a couple of times. In February 2014 had a new rack fitted by my mechanic with a reconditioned one from Camberley Auto Factors plus the near and o/side front lower ball joints and n/s/f shock absorber and then had the tracking reset. -
MINI Coupe Cooper S - Rattles, Thumps, Squeaks and Bumps. 25 Mar 2014 (Forum)
We purchased a MINI Coupe Cooper S in June 2012. What a mistake. They purport to be a premium brand but our experience contradicts this. After two days of battery died. Not a flat battery but a faulty battery which left us stranded. -

Is this insurance quote too good to be true? 29 Sep 2012 (Ask HJ)

And he has found out that I have fixed hes motorcycle. -
Next doors cat & the space time incontinence 5 Jul 2010 (Forum)
Next doors cat for example - It might perceive the world in great simplicity. Eat sleep, catch a bird , play, lay on top of the engine and get covered in oil. But what if it`s perception of reality is so different to ours - that it`s really living in effect, in a different world. What if the whales have a handle on the universe but can`t tell us? they keep coming ashore to try to write the equation on the beach with a flipper - but we keep shoving em back in. -

Audi A4 B6 (2001 - 2005) - Suspension issue and to replace with sport or not 10 Oct 2007 (Forum)
The car still seems to handle ok and none of the bounce I would expect with a duff shock I know that people do not rate the sports springs on the newer Audi?s but what of this vintage? The car does sit a little high with the 17?s on but I would rather live with that look than rock hard ride. I am only really interested in OE kit, I am not into really low cars or adjustable suspension. -

Following on from my 5.5k review of my Leon, my opinions after 5k miles with my wife?s Octavia 2.0TDi L+K estate. Thought this was a good time to post and would make interesting comparison with Mr. Freezer?s review of his 1.9 Octavia. Generally my wife (main driver ? lease car) is very happy with the car. -

Driving test grief (need advice) 18 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I can now see why passing the driving test in the UK is the hardest place of all EU countries (quote from ?Driving? on the Times newspaper) it?s not because it is a better system it?s because they can fail you on trivialities even though they know you can drive perfectly good. Ok he booked another one for March. I think you can fly to Slovenia with that kind of money and pass your driving test with ease (Quote from Autocar) and than convert it to a UK one! -

keep 306 or s/h almera-primera-mondeo? 4 Feb 2004 (Forum)
I'm not interested in residuals since I run 'em into the ground. If I change I'll probably look just after the March registration when there'll be a few more s/h's around. Do you think trader, private or auction would be best for any or all of the above replacements? Also (sorry for being a pain) does anybody have any experience in using professional auction buyers like mentioned in HJ's directory? -
Think I\'ve seen the last of my car.Part1 9 Oct 2003 (Forum)
As the accident was in no way my fault, can I insist that the insurance company repairs the car? Also, it\'s the bank holiday weekend and I\'m without a car because of an accident that wasn\'t my fault. Apparently I can only have a courtesy car where the car is repairable and they haven\'t decided yet. I phoned this morning and all the insurance company\'s systems are down, which is of no help to me! -
Letter from Lagos 17 Jul 2003 (Forum)
I arrived on Saturday nite, and went into downtown Lagos . On sunday flew to Port Harcourt, and from there on by road to Aba ? about an hpur?s trip. And what an hour it was! The road is a two-lane-a-direction dual carriageway, but in places where the surface is too potholed, the cars on one side simply drive across the resevation, and start a new road in YOUR carriageway!!!! -

VW BMW and MB - ACC Thefts 14 Aug 2025 (Forum)
They are then resold on auction sites etc for a fraction of their replacement cost but still need programming at the main dealer . Reminds me of the Beastie Boys and thefts of badges from VW. S but at least the dealers replaced the badges free of charge. How long have these units being fitted to VW BMW and MB which are mainly affected and why aren’t other makes being targeted like Tesla ? -
Large 4x4 prices 21 Oct 2024 (Forum)
Maybe it's impossible to know but taking an educated guess , with proposed ban on diesel/petrol by 2035, do people think used 4x4 prices for older bigger 4x4's such as a Toyota land cruiser are going to plummet which some analysts say or basically become too expensive to run as the government will do silly things with tax and insurance ? Say for example you bought a 2006 landcruiser for £5k now would it be worth £500 in 5 years time Fascinating answers awaiting !
