• Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI - Starting problem. 9 Feb 2013 (Forum)
  Hi I could do with some advice. I replaced The copper injector seals and the plastic seals on a 2005 1.4 tdci ford fiesta today and after putting it back together and bleeding it up i turned the key to start it up and all i got was a clicking from the starter motor which i thought was strange because it started fine before commencing work on it, it just ran rough that was all.

  I recently contacted a dealer in essex(i'm from scotland) and asked if they had any ford fiestas. They told me they could get one but it would cost £500 for delivery. I gave my bank details to pay for delivery and was told i never had to pay a deposit. They then sent me an email with the car and i decided it wasn't for me however i have now been told i can't get my money back as their words - "As I stated in my email we ordered a car on the strength of your instruction and we have had to take delivery and pay for the car even though you have now cancelled the order".

• Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec 2001(Y Reg) - Tailgate/Central locking problem. 29 Oct 2012 (Forum)
  I have a problem with the tailgate on my ford focus 1.6 Zetec opening, apparently on its own, when i'm driving! It has also started opening when I start the ignition and opens almost as soon as I close it again! The  offside passenger door also seems to have a mind of its own working intermittantly and usually stops working when it's deadlocked stopping me opening it altogether when it does and makes me wonder if the two problems are linked.

  This is now always the case but only when the car is stationary, not when coasting with clutch in. No noise while driving (except the usual Ford Diesel sound) and everything else seems OK. Any idea what this could be. Praying it's not injectors or DMF as I simply can't afford it. Thanks

  hi there folks my girlfriend has a ford ka i have read the posts relating to the heater problems (there seem to be many) here is our problem the heater control valve is working (i bought a new one ) the old one behaves exactly the same as the new one.

  After 8 months I've decided I realy don't like the way this car feels or drives. I've been making enquiries at various garages about a Ford Fiesta,Ttitanium. I took one out for a test drive and loved how it felt and handled. One garage I called today laughed at me about changing to a Fiesta and said it's exactly the same as my Mazda.

  Hi, folks. My H reg Ford Fiesta, which itself is running fine, has just developed a problem with the driver's sidefoor lock.  The door won't grip closed when you shut it. I've taken the side panel off the door, and all the parts seems to be moving when I use the inside and outside door handles.

  Hi, I've just purchased a 3 yr old 1.8 TDCi ford focus from a main dealer. On getting it home I realised it was leaking diesel all over my driveway. A quick trip back to the dealer and they identified that one of the injector pipes had come loose and they reattached it.

  I have been using, or should I say may Ford dealer has been using, Castro Magnatech 5-30w fully synthetic motor oil in my 2002 Focus with a 104000 miles.  Now I understand they have switched to semi-synthetic Castrol. I wonder, do I really need to use fully synthetic oil, or am I okay with part synthetic and if so, can someone recommend an oil?

  Hi I have a 2002 Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia, and the armrest and lumbar support on the drivers seat do not work. The armrest is stuck in the up position, and will no longer unlock to be lowered. The lumbar support which adjusts with a wheel on the hinge of the armrest) has also stopped working, but not at the same time.

  My dad has a ford transit connect which after having had various oil leaks caused by a bad engine change (FWI national engines dont use new gaskets) fixed, i took the van on a 10 mile drive to make sure everything was ok which it was but after a few times it has trouble starting and will now only start on easy start.

  Hi again. I am am loads of trouble with my 2002 ford focus just lately, probably because I mentioned selling it, she has now cost me nearly £500 since January!! Anyway, after just having had my brake caliper un seized today, the lad who does the repair work on the car for me has rang to say that after depressing the clutch pedal the white plastic eyelet that attaches to the welded stud on the clutch pedal fell off into a few pieces landing in the footwell.

  My tdci engine takes between 10 and 15 miles [from a cold start] to reach nornmal on the temp gauge if I drive at a steady 60mph but if I drive below 45mph the gauge never gets above quarter scale. The ford dealer has changed the thermostat and confirmed the temp gauge is indicating correctly i.e. the engine runs at only 65 degrees and the thermostat is only designed to start opening at 71 degrees. Also if I put the heater fan on above speed 3 the engine gradually cools down to below quarter on the gauge.

  Hi, I've bought a Cd player for the Mrs for Xmas to replace the original tape deck in her 1997 Ford Ka. I'm wondering basically how to fit it short of taking it to Halfords etc. I bought a Goodmans GCE7205 CD Player and i'm led to believe i will need a few things to install this. I think i'm right in saying i will need Fascia Adapter due to the Dimensions (Depth 6.3 in.

    The handbook states that only a silver calcium replacement should be used but a quick check for a suitable Silver Calcium battery from Ford comes out at £156!  Halfords do Bosch 'Silver' batteries or Halfords branded 'Calcium' batteries, both of which come up when my car details are entered, but then again so do their Lead Acid versions, so I'm not sure how trustworthy the suggestions are.

  Question is, will disconnecting the belt make the engine light come on and will I then need to visit Ford to get it reset? The CMax is canbus and for all I know it may not even start with the alternator not working?

  It seemed that the gears were a little hard to change, but i dont know if thats just because im used to a ford fiesta t reg.. Also should it have had its timing belt changed by now?   Am I being awkward here?

  Monday 14  June     Time 16.14pm   Guys can you help me out here ? I had the front nearside wheel bearing replaced on my ford escort  1990 model at a garage in August 2009. I took the car for an MOT today at ther same garage that did the repair.   Their is play on the near side front wheel when the garage was MOT the car.
