  Can anyone comment on the fuel consumption of the Peugeot 307 HDI (90). I've done 6000 miles in mine and can't get above 45mpg. I do mainly A road/ motorway journeys outside of the rush hours, so I'm in 5th gear most of the time. Its just had its first service and the dealer couldn't offer any explanation other than to contact Peugeot if it didn't get any better.

  Hi there, the anti-pollution warning light has recently come on in my Peugeot 307 Glx 16V. The garage plugged it in and said that it is possibly a fault with the catalytic converter, but have advised in the first instance to use some cat cleaner and take it for a motorway spin.

  [endif]--> Recent MOT on my old 1998 Peugeot 106 1.1, the advisory stated blue smoke was being emitted during acceleration. I hadn’t noticed this myself before, but can definitely see it now. It doesn’t seem to make any difference if the engine is hot or cold.

  They suggested we have put on a diagnostics machine to find the problem. My wife then drove the car to the peugeot dealer around the corner and had it put on thier machine. They diagnosed the problem as the high pressure fuel pump being deffective and needs replacing (at great cost). They reluctlently gave us a copy of the dianostics report which had the following fault codes P0336, P0272, P0181, P0263, P0266 & P1199.

  I called the person who sold me the car and they said that was fine they would send it out to me. I called a week later and they said it take 4 weeks for Peugeot to send out the books, so I waited and called back a month later. Again they apologised and this time said that it would take 6 weeks for this to come through. And when I called again they said it would take another 6 weeks and they would call me.

  Hi, just over 3 months ago I bought a Peugeot 207 1.6 110, 06 plate, 57000 miles for £3600, about 3 weeks after it started coming up with a warning depollution system faulty took it back to the dealers he checked it, and told me it was the DPF and just needed some additive and a good blast, which it got but still coming up with the fault asked him if he was willing to repair it and said no.

  Thus, cars with low depreciation are with high priority. I prefer buying either new or approved car. For example I was looking in Approved Peugeot 3008 and 508 models that after just a year lost about 40% value. However I ask myself why such a huge drop? On one hand it can be good- they already dropped a lot and in the next year their depreciation will slow down (say another 10% drop).

  Hi, I recently bought my Peugeot 307 style HDI diesel (3 months ago), and it has up until now been brilliant... but yesterday, it bleeped and a warning light appeared (engine) and it conked out almost immediately. I was on the A38 at the time, and the AA were called.

  Hi, I recently bought a Peugeot 307 HDI 55-plate with 90K miles from a trader in south Wales approximately three weeks ago. Everything was fine until last night, with four people in the car, the driver's front suspension coil shattered and took out the tyre and ABS cable too.

    Loads of bits including rear mount, manifolds and other stuff were completely different to the existring engine 2.  More worryingly the engine had a Peugeot badge on it. The block was the same but all the anicllaries were out.  When I contacted the supplier he told me that all engines in Citroens have a Peugeot badge.  My current one doesn't and so my question is it it true that Citroen engines have a Peugeot badge?

  I then found the bush on the wishbone for holding the anti roll bar down was perished, so hopefully replaced that(only available a peugeot main dealer) £12. That did'nt sort it so am am about to go to the scrap yard to get the exact same suspension strut, wheel bearing and drive shaft. I say exact because by the sound of it there is every possible combination of different types sizes of bearing, spline etc possible on my 106 XD.

  Hi Am new to the forum and car buying in general so sorry for any silly questions! My partner is about to buy a 55 plate Peugeot 206 and on the HPI check a mileage discrepancy came up: 06 Sep 2006 BVRLA 10,268 18 Sep 2006 BVRLA 30,804 22 Sep 2006 NMR 10,000 22 Sep 2006 NMR 10,270 The car now has 24,000 miles, it was a lease car for the first 6 months (hence the high milage between Feb and Sep 2006) and then privately owned til part exed in July this year.

  I drove from there to my house, again reversed in to my driveway and they weren't working. They haven't worked since. I do have a Peugeot fixed tow bar and electrics fitted. And I do tow a caravan. And the sensors have intermittently stopped working after I unplugged the caravans electrics. but when I turned the car off and on again they worked.

  Hi all, First post so go easy. I have a Peugeot 306 cabriolet which seems to have some sort of electrical gremlin. The speedo and rev counter have started to flicker (Needles jitter a couple of mm and you can hear the servos cycling) when the ignition is first switched on and they do the same when you turn off.
