Really hope someone can help. My engine recently went bang after a water pump failure. My mechanic advised it would be better to get a replacement engine so I duly went round the motor spares suppliers in England and found what I thought was a suitable replacement. The company checked my chassis number and engine number and told me the one they were supplying was the right one. Anyway it duly arrived but:

1. Loads of bits including rear mount, manifolds and other stuff were completely different to the existring engine

2. More worryingly the engine had a Peugeot badge on it.

The block was the same but all the anicllaries were out. When I contacted the supplier he told me that all engines in Citroens have a Peugeot badge. My current one doesn't and so my question is it it true that Citroen engines have a Peugeot badge? It seems odd to me.

I am trying to track down the vehicle it came from via the engine number but have not been able to do so yet.

Any help would be really appreciated and sorry for the long post.
