SE 1.6 TDI 5dr Hatchback

Very good but few niggles

Yes excellent handling yes interior sets benchmark for all other cars BUT three big niggles with interior -
1. Steering wheel controls are confusing the phone controls aren't on one side and volume and radio on other, they are muddled so it takes some getting used to compared to my previous astra

2. CD player is in the glove box so it is hard to change CD's as you are driving - hard and dangerous

3. Not comfortable for 3 adults in the back - the middle passenger has to contendd with the big ridge in the back

Have driven a focus company car prior to my astra and definitely the new golf is as good as the focus on the twisty bits. Considered a focus but by the time they add everything on ie bluetooth and good radio the golf actually worked out cheaper! and ofcourse my resale on the golf will be good
Overall do wish I had looked more closely at the i30 hyundai - friend has one and intterior excellent and on 15 inch tyres drives just as well as my golf
