Good Car let down by fault after fault

Had plenty of Golfs in the past so Im a bit of a fan. I like the look of the MK6 especially with the 16" Alloys and the interior is excellent and feels quality.
Doesn't get anywhere near the quoted mpg but I seem to average about 47mpg. Handling is ok not as good as a Focus and the 1.6 performance is good but not spectacular.
So far the ac compressor has failed @ £800 very common Im told. Also had to replace clutch position sensor and brake switch which freaked out the EMS @ £230.
Had the cambelt and water pump replaced at VW dealer at £349 which I thought was good as this was on offer.Found out the 1.6 & 5 speed box doesn't have DMF ..result.
However this means a bit vibration below 2000 rpm and coupled with high 1st gear can make if tricky to pull away cleanly.All in all a good car spoilt by under-engineering and stupid faults
