Expensive parts

A pigeon flew into my driver side wing mirror. The plastic cover flew off and was run over by a lorry behind me. The wing mirror is otherwise fine, the electrics work, it opens and closes at the push of a button, the indicator lamp is perfect. The model is an N-Sport automatic, and all I need is a plastic clip on cover. The main dealer tells me the carbon-fibre plastic skin costs £154. It is a bit of plastic with carbon fibre effect Fablon stretched over it. This sticks on to the 'proper' clip-on plastic cover using double sided sticky tape. The plastic clip on cover is another £50, plus whatever the dealer wants to charge you for labour. Really?? A bit of moulded plastic that probably costs Nissan 10p. We're talking about a clip on cover costing over £200, not a replacement wing mirror.
