A missed opportunity.

The Mini Cooper at first glance is a great little car especially with the standard 15” alloys although they don’t look the best the car rides far better and a lot more comfortably than with the bigger alloys. Economy wise it’s fine, urban driving gives about 40mpg increasing on a longer motorway run. Clutch is a little heavy but not excessive. Engine pulls really well in every gear, you really don’t need anything more. The Achilles heel to this car is the gearing, it’s just too highly geared. Great for fuel economy and emissions but you have to change to first gear to turn any corner. It will quite happily cruise at quite a low rpm in third! If they had lowered the gearing it would have been a Cooper S beater.
