Power and Control

I bought this car to replace a spotless 2001 BMW X5 3.0i sport which I’d had for 7 years, my brother had been hankering over my BMW for years and so I sold it to him, not because I wanted to get shot of it far from it, I had lovingly cared for this car and it was pristine and wanted for nothing!
I searched for a car to replace my do anything, go anywhere, carry anything car, I fancied a convertible sports car but I also needed practicality, I realised after a lot of research I decided the car I really needed was what I already had but just better!
So I started looking for the next model up a BMW X5 E70, I searched and researched, with the ULEZ crucifying all old Diesel engines I decided it had to be petrol, I wanted a bit more oommmff than my old 3.0i and as the 4.8i did better fuel consumption I plumped for that!
I found a 2007 BMW X5 E70 with 90,000 miles on the clock, selective sport mode, sat nav, adaptive lights, headlight assist, adaptive self levelling suspension, automatic wipers, electric seats and windows, panoramic sunroof, PDC, 20inch wheels, this car had the lot, I test drove it and fell in love all over again, this car was like my old car but better, suspension was more forgiving until you took it through some bends and then it became a sports car, the adaptive suspension came into its own, taking the corners flat, I’ve never felt anything like it, and with 355bhp on tap it propelled itself toward the horizon at phenomenal speed, 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds ain’t bad!
It carry’s 4-5 in comfort, is sublime to drive and I don’t think many cars would come close to it’s seductive waft down the road like a limousine, or if you want to, turn it into a snarling road muncher, the choice is yours!
It’s a great car from a great manufacturer put together with BMW flair and imagination, a true drivers car for those that can only have one car, when practicality has to be a priority!
Just because you have to be practical, doesn’t mean your fun has to end!
