Dacia Logan MCV Stepway due in June from £11,495

The Dacia Logan MCV Stepway is now on sale, with prices starting from £11,495. The rugged estate will follow in the footsteps of the Sandero Stepway and feature crossover styling, with increased ground clearance, plastic bodywork cladding and metal skid plates. 

Previewed at the Geneva Motor Show, the Logan MCV Stepway will be pitched at crossover buyers, although the £11,495 price point marks a considerable premium over Dacia's standard estate - which starts from just £7295.

The Logan MCV Stepway will only be available in the range-topping Laureate trim, which means standard equipment will be high, with LED daytime running lights, alloy wheels, roof rails and navigation. 

What’s more, being a Stepway model, the Logan MCV gets some rugged extras, including increased ground clearance (174mm), satin-effect chrome skid plate, front fog lights and plastic cladding for the wheel arches and door sills.

There are two 90PS engines to choose from – one petrol and one diesel – and the most-efficient will be the 1.5-litre dCi 90 diesel, which will return an advertised 100g/km of CO2 and 72.4mpg.

The 0.9 TCe 90 petrol in comparison will provide an official 115g/km of CO2 and 55.4mpg. Both are linked to a five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Dacia has no plans to offer an automatic or four-wheel drive.

Bootspace will be identical to the standard model, which means the Logan MCV Stepway will provide 573 litres of boot space with the rear seats in place. Flatten the second row and storage increases to 1518 litres and all models gets electric door mirrors, height-adjustable driver’s seat and a colour touchscreen.

Metallic paint (£495), reversing camera (£200) and leather seats (£500) will all be available as options. Standard navigation will also be limited to the UK, which means you'll have to pay £90 to get maps for Western Europe.
