Will the DVLA notify me if I now have to pay tax on my previously zero VED car?

My car was zero road tax. What happens now with the road tax changes. Will DVLA notify me if I now have to pay?

The DVLA should automatically send you a V11 reminder one month before your VED is due, but you can check the tax status of your vehicle on the DVLA website, as well as set up a driver and vehicles account here - www.gov.uk/driver-vehicles-account - which allow you to set your preferences for VED reminders.
