98' VW Passat 1.9TDI 90BHP - Power loss near 3000 rpm - carlover

Hello,
This probably has come up many times before but I have the following problem with my car which has over 200 k miles on it.

Car drives fine until i get to motorway and usually if I go near 3000 rpm I lose power. You can actually feel the power going. Then its as dead as a door nail. Turn off the car and turn it back on and car is fine again. The car is on its 2nd MAF so Im wondering can a MAF go more than once?

Also when fault occurs doesnt seem to lose all of its power but it loses a lot of power.

Ive read different problems before which usually point to the following:

1) could be the MAF
2) take out turbo and clean it
3) EGR valve needs to be cleaned as stuff has buit up in it
4) pipe going from enging to exhaust theres a hole in it

If I drive the car at 60 miles an hour the problem never happens.

Can anyone tell me whats up?

THANKS

I have attached the readout from a software tool for my car which is a 1998 1.9TDI 90BHP passat.

I also have the MAF readout when the car is idling and when the car is red-lined. I read on another website that if your car is able to rev to 5000 rpm then its not a problem with the MAF.

Car loses power near the 3000 rpm mark. Turning off and on car will temporarily solve the problem until I go near 3000rpm again on the motorway.

So could someone please take a look at my readings attached and tell me where I should start in trying to solve the above problem?

There are so many different hoses and my main problem is i dont know the correct names/terms for the hoses so i also have attached a picture of the engine. I have marked 1 hose in a red as i noticed there is a small hole underneath the hose from where the fuel filter has caused this.

Could this be my problem?

Well that pipe if the inlet air from the intercooer so it would be blowing and dropping your manifold pressure. Regards Peter
