Volkswagen Bora - SERVICE NOW - karak

Hey guys,

An other question of mine:

Can anyone tell me how to erase the SERVICE NOW message from the gauge?

The car is a Bora 1.9 pdtdi,Y reg,made in 2001.

I am always servicing the car so it really does not need to be serviced again.

Thank you

I think it can only be erased using the VaG.com diagnostic interface. As this is an early car, you can get a cable that fits a laptop and download the (redued functionality) software for free that will do this. Alternatively you may get a decent independant garage to do it for you for a tenner.

On a Golf and Passat I had, the service now message could be reset easily. I think you just held in the button for the trip computer and turned on the ignition. I cannot be sure if it was the trip computer button though because I had the Golf in 1999 and the Passat was replaced in 2003. It may have been the button on the stalk for the trip functions.

All I know is I didn't need any software to do it.

... should this be in technical?

It can be done from the dash using the trip and clock buttons. It is explained in the drivers handbook.
