Having bought a new VW Transporter in September 2000 (X Reg) with a 2.5 TDI 102bhp engine I am concerned to read about the possible lubrication problems caused by using the 'wrong' type of diesel. Is there a potential problem with my particular engine and if so what fuel or additive should I use? Please put me out of my misery!

Millers DieselPower Plus improves lubricity and cetane rating and also contains deterget to help keep the injectors clean. Fors tockists phone 0800 281 053.

Hi HJ
On your recommendation I have been using the Millers product in my diesel Carlton for over a year. I seems to have increased MPG, It certainly keeps the engine cleaner, less smoke and flew through the Mot.
Why don't the oil companies include this type of additive in the fuel when they blend it?

On modern stuff, using normal pump diesel will be fine, IMHO.
We see very few pump (mechanical) failures these days.
Perhaps a shot of an additive every 3 months or so to keep things clean....

I do not trust the fuel manufacturers but I believe HJ.Its Millers for me
