I'm looking at a car at GTC at the mo & was wondering what tips are available whilst dealing with them ?

I found them to be pretty straightforward. Don't expect to haggle or to get much for your trade-in. The one area they did push me all the way was on purchase of extended warranty which I resisted, much to the salesman's "surprise". You don't get much of a test-drive - down to the end of the road and back - barely enough to go through all the gears!
Read all the documentation clearly and then follow your nose. They present you with the facts as they are and you make your own mind up. I found downloading HJ's car purchasing advice invaluable in that respect.

Oh and go prepared for them to try, reasonably hard but not too hard, to sell you their warranty and finance and gap insurance. Just make sure that you have researched alternatives as it was made in a very take it now or never way to us.
They do let you have a look at any car you like for as long as you like before the very, very short test drive. They also have plenty of cars so go equipped with sandwiches.
