Are there still issues with the Ford 1.0 EcoBoost engine?

I'm looking at buying a Ford Fiesta, between 2016 - 2019 plate. Are there still issues with the EcoBoost engines?

There are known issues with early EcoBoost engines, particularly with a faulty coolant hose, carbon build-up and fuel pressure issues. Ford says that these issues were resolved by 2014.

Ultimately there is a degree of risk with any used car, but if an EcoBoost model has been regularly serviced then you are less likely to encounter any issues.

If you don't want to take the risk, we would suggest going for an alternative such as the Volkswagen Polo or Skoda Fabia, both of which are available with 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre TSI engines.
