Not helped by the EU's policy of deleting dams. Apparently Spain has been particularly keen on deleting dams. Now this uncontrolled flooding.

I expect the truth will be concealed from the world....

My son’s Mazda 6 failed its Mot yesterday for an SRS (ie airbags etc) warning and a braking one. Amazingly the main dealer (who didn’t do the MoT) accepted a booking for today and resolved these faults. The service desk says it was slightly low brake fluid and that set off the brake warning and that the SRS one was not live but due to a previous code saved by the system and representing when the brake one came up,

Maybe he or the receptionist have the wrong end of the stick but it sounds unlikely to me. Has anyone come across this? Read more

Latest (October) new car registration figures published yesterday - the overall market is down.
Petrol, diesel, HEV and PHEV all down, BEV up, but not enough to rescue the overall figures.

Price them up online at Euro Car Parts, ebay, or CATS2U.

Then add an hour's labour to the cost (anwhere between £50 and £120) and you'll have a ballpark figure....

Hi all

Hope this is easy and quick for someone to answer. I live in the ULEZ and have a car that I only use occasionally, mainly for trips down to Cornwall and back as I walk / use public transport in London no problem. I am concerned that some of the £12.50 daily ULEZ charges on my Road User Charging account seem to exceed the number of times I have driven in the ULEZ and also don't seem to correspond to the days I was using the car.

You hear these stories of cloning number plates - is it possible to find out from TFL what days I have been charged for driving in the ULEZ, and where the cameras picked me up? And, if so, is this via a some sort of Data Protection Act Subject Access Request or is there another procedure?

TIA

Hi, a friend has the X-trail as above and after it was parked for about 6 weeks the footwear was a couple of inches deep in water. Any ideas, nothing obviously wrong with seals etc. Read more

The problem with leaks is that the entry point can be some distance from where the water collects. I would check the obvious things such as leaves blocking drainage channels under the bonnet. Check the sunroof channels, if fitted. Windscreen seal. I had an old Golf once and that would leak through the door card because the polythene membrane would crack after a good few years.
