Because of finding anything that matches the comfort of the Korando is too difficult without adding £25000 we have decided to stick with it. I was offered a pre-reg MG HS by a local dealer for £19995 (outgoing model) still in the showroom. One look at the touchscreen controls for air con made it a definite no, especially after the previous experience.

Hi, All.
Looking to possibly buy a 2012 Ford Galaxy 1.6T Ecoboost and was wondering what your average MPG was around town and on a run. Obviously the site says 35mpg but would like some more in depth opinions.... Read more
Not sure about fuel economy on these , but the 4 cylinder ecoboost engines are not the most robust . Commonly fail for misfire and coolant loss .

I’d pull the radio out and disconnect it . See if that makes any difference to your situation. Very difficult to find an accurate wiring diagram that makes any sense.
Younger daughter today on a road trip rings me to say a couple of warning lights are on - further questioning reveals the temp gauge is well above mid-point.
It would then cycle up and down a few times then stabilise.
I’ve had to add coolant - expansion tank being empty or close on empty, I can’t see an obvious leak in the few minutes I’ve had, but I do know that the engine fan is cutting in.
I’ve ordered a new thermostat, and will hunt for a leak around the housing, but anyone any other likely suggestions. It had a new radiator probably 18 months ago. Read more
Ended up sending the car to a local garage, due to lack of time and inclination to get my hands dirty. They’ve just called to say they’ve found a cracked thermostat housing.
So it lives to fight another year until she graduates and can buy herself something newer.
Evening all, recently bought a nice runaround ford fiesta 07 private sale. Owner did not have the v5, so i applied for a new one, no problem, the notes on the new v5 state the car was salvaged due to structural damage, but declared suitable for repair.did not know this before buying. Within a week the ns front tyre went flat despite having a new tyre prior to the sale, took it to the local garage and they said inner rim was badly damaged and unrepairable. Found a replacement so that’s ok, my worry is all though it has an MOT, how can I find out what the damage was? Also strange there was no V5 at the time, any advice appreciated thanks Read more
Doesn’t help yourself, but this serves as a reminder to never never buy a car without a V5. Dodgy traders masquerading as private punters often say there’s no V5 to hide that they’re not the cars registered keeper or as in this case to hide mention of it being a structural write-off. Avoid at all costs if a V5 showing the sellers current address can’t be presented by any private seller.
Hi all
Me and my partner purchased a Citroen C4 Picasso in January 2023 from a well known car business and things were going great.
However, before going on holiday this summer we thought it would be best to get it serviced so took it to the dealer we got the car from. Upon being serviced, they advised us that there was corrosion on the engine and the car would require a new engine. They told us that Citroen had a recall out on the car (of which we were not aware of) in order for the timing/wet belt to be replaced. They advised that due to the fact that this hasn’t been actioned it has caused serious engine issues. The dealer had run a diagnostics on the car before sending to Citroen in order for the recall to be fitted.
We did not receive anything to advise of a recall needing actioned. Contacting Citroen they advised they sent letters in March 23, December 23 and March 24. The car was also in for an MOT in September 2023 at the dealer we bought from and we were not made aware of a recall needing done.
Upon getting in contact with Citroen they took the car in done a free replacement of the recall. However, they advised us the car was ready to be picked up and driven away. This even after we were told the car was in drivable and would require a full new engine.
We contested this with Citroen but they have washed there hands of the damag that had been caused and advised that we would need to pay the full cost of the new engine (£8k+) and there would be no help given whatsoever. This being completely against the guidance we have been advised by the dealer who said that due to the issues relating to the recall then Citroen should be liable to cover the cost.
I wonder if anyone else has been in this situation regarding this?
Or even if they have any advice on what to do going forward as we had not been made aware of this and it has seriously damaged our car and is now not drivable and we have been left with a large sum of money to pay through no fault of our own.
Thanks in advance Read more
Are you sure they said 'corrosion'? Valve carbonization has been an issue and in this thread a dealer allegedly said a new engine was needed before the owner had the valves decoked.
