Hello All, I remember some sage advice from this forum in the past and wondered if help is still available, probably from Middleman. We parked in a car park last year. The signage was spa*** and it was during the back end of lockdown and the place was deserted. So we parked, had a mooch about and left. That was 3 March 2021. Then in January this year we received a letter demanding £170 in payment for breaching their rules. We were advised to ignore it, which we did. Today we received a county court document demanding £277. The parking sharks are based in Warrington and the court docs came from Northampton. Need some advice on how to proceed please. Thank you. We are looking for a replacement for my wife's A3 which self-immolated a week or so ago.
Found a couple of candidates at a local dealer.... Read more
We have had the Tipo for about a week now and I had my first good drive in it at the weekend.
The 1.4 turbo engine seems punchy enough for driving round the alanes and a couple of blasts down the A303 showed it to be more than capable of mixing ot with the outside lane brigade. Haven't had a chance to brim-to-brim ityet but the trip computer says just over 40mpg....
I recently went to a Hyundai garage to look at some cars and basically let myself get pushed into considering a slightly larger type of car than I was originally thinking of I was told I needed to pay £99 to reserve a test drive for the following week.
At home I was thinking about it and decided I didn't wantvto do a test drive on that car so I phoned the garage to cancel and could I have my money back please, in short I have contacted them three times by phone and once by email and they still have not refunded me.... Read more
Most car dealerships will let you take a car for a test drive without charge. They may ask for some form of identification, such as a driver's license, but this is simply to ensure that you are who you say you are. The dealership wants you to be happy with your purchase, and they know that the best way to do that is to let you try out the car before you buy it. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, if you're test driving a high-end luxury car, the dealership may charge a fee in order to offset the cost of insurance. In addition, some rental car companies will charge a fee for test drives. Overall, though, you shouldn't have to pay anything to take a car for a spin.
I was surprised by this article, I had no idea faxes were still used at all and even more surprised they are still for sale:
The main problem is people with old landline phones that won't work any longer.
I understand BT are dealing with that problem - although I don't know how....
Thank you all for your help. I had thought initially that the parking company were out of time, given the so called offence was in January 21 and the first contact after that was March 22 and now late October 22. Surely they have to serve notice within a reasonable time period, it is very unfair to have this hanging over people all this time. Also is it possible to change the court venue from wherever to North Yorkshire? They are based in Warrington so they may wish to use their local court. Thanks.
