Hi
We’ve recently bought our daughter her first car. It’s a Ford Ka 2011.
It’s a lovely little car, however, the radio doesn’t work and the code given to us with the car doesn’t work.
The radio is a Fiat B420 Low and the serial number is 5230282232231004204335.
There are other numbers on the label but none work when we put them in to the code generators online.
Apart from an expensive visit to Ford, is there any other way of getting the code?
Thank you so much for reading - any help would be much appreciated Read more
Hello
This is an odd one, in both our cars it seems that a spider has taken up residence in the door mirror behand the glass, and every morning there’s a large web from the mirror to the window glass.... Read more
Goodness knows just how many spiders live on or in my van!. .
Spidervan?...
I have found a 2014 1.7 Kia Sportage with 75000 miles for £7395 and a 2014 Honda CR-V with 104000 miles for £7995. Any advice on which would be the Best Buy? Read more
If we are talking about diesels, see the answer given on your previous two threads, same applies here.
Does an all metal roof give more protection than glass roof ? Sorry if it's a silly question but I'm a bit OCD where safety is concerned. Read more
Thanks for the prompt and very informative replies. Taking everything into account I'll discount Venga 4 and go for 3 without glass roof. Really appreciate invaluable advice.
it'll be cheaper too !!
Hope someone can give us some advice on this. The symbol for engine electronics appeared and there was a loss of steering power on the car so we pulled off the road and phoned rescue service. The car wouldn't start so they tried to jump start it. The rescue guy then announced that our car had "Fried" his van and that wouldn't start! I'm not sure what this meant but he had to call for a low loader to take my car home.and go back to rescue him!!
We charged the battery overnight and the car started the next day and the warning light had gone out. Took it for a short run and all seemed fine but we were a bit worried that it would happen again so we drove it to the garage and left it to get looked at.... Read more
Fried ECU? Bit worrying if a a recovery man doesn't know how to jump start a car properly.
In a small retail park near me, a guy with a Porsche Cayenne asked me for a jump start - he had the cables as mate with a van had tried and failed. I politely declined on the basis of a dentist appointment (a lie), as I wasn't having the electrics on an expensive BMW frazzled.
I am currently looking into buying a new car. I currently drive a qashqai but need something a bit bigger so I am looking at a qashqai plus 2 or a Honda CR-V. I have found a 2013 high spec qashqai with 89000 miles for £6600 and a Honda CR-V 2012 with 86000 miles on the clock. I was just looking some advice on whether they were good reliable models, if those miles are too much and which would be my best bet. Many thanks Read more
Kitchen appliances can be fun. My washing machine plays a tune after it's finished :)
So does ours, drives SWMBO mad and I can't find any way to switch the sound off....

Has it ever worked ? It’s possible that it’s locked out due to too many incorrect pin codes being entered .

Start Rescue gets my vote too. Apart from being pet friendly they recently provided a taxi all the way from Oxford to Northampton when my friends mother was having difficulties getting up into the rescue vehicle with the rest of the family.
My 2004 Trajet has just failed MOT, the "major." defect will be straightforward for a mechanic to repair, but the "minor" defect is proving a headache - missing bump stops both sides rear axle. Bump stops for other cars seem to be around £10 each, but the only place that can quote to supply me is a hyundai dealer, at £82 each.
I'm reluctant to spend this on an old, high-mileage car, but it also seems a shame to scrap it for something minor.... Read more
How about spring assisters? I remember fitting some that were effectively long bump stops. Made the back end very stiff and uncomfortable for back passengers, but stiffened it up no end and improved the handling:
I lease a car. From new. Now 4yrs old and end of lease. I am retiring. I want to keep the car however uk tax laws say I can't buy it. But a mate can. So one of my mates buys it. I lend him the money, v5 goes in his name for a week then he sells it for a £1 to me. I know this means I'm 3rd owner...but I know the vehicle.
