Like the majority of British people I voted to Take Back Control and leave the EU. Very happy to see its happened. I also regard myself as a patriot - my father and grandfather fought in WWII and WWI respectively.
I think something needs to be done about the huge amount of money leaving the UK in pensions and benefits paid to so-called expats. I would like to start a campaign. I have already written to my MP, the DWP and the PM - predictably no response from any of them.... Read more
Previously brought a Focus automatic with a reliable TC automatic gearbox, but this ended up being very thirsty, that car has now been sold so after an alternative.

Cynical moi often wonders why so many roundabouts are "landscaped" and "pruned" in such a way (i.e. not at all) as to make it nigh on impossible to see if there's any traffic already going round without actually stopping on the line. It utterly defeats the purpose of a roundabout in the first place, but of course all the unnecessary braking increases fuel consumption.
And don't get me started on traffic lights! Most of the ones on major roads where I live default to flashing amber at night time and off peak hours, so it's "proceed with caution" and mostly common sense takes over.
What is going on lately? Alister Stewart sacked for having a private view on social media that even the recipient didn't seem too worried about. And then there is Ben Stokes giving presumably as good has he got from a spectator and getting admonished and fined! There are many other examples I could quote. Whatever happened to free expression in this country? I have every respect for individuals defending their corner Read more

My 1999 Toyota Camry has covered about 300k miles. It still runs well and is trouble free. Uses no oil or water. I hope to keep it maybe another 5 years.
The coolant hoses are all original. They look and feel fine but they are 20 years old. Would you change them? Also would you change just the top and bottom hoses or also the other small-bore hoses to the heater and throttle body etc ? I am nervous that one might burst and overheat the engine. I think that's about the only thing that could kill it.... Read more
How much do you use your TR7 though?
At least every two weeks - more often in the summer. It has never been 'off the road' for any significant length of time. But it has only done a mere 70,000 miles. However, I don't think that high mileage would accelerate hose deterioration. It would take millions of miles/hours of water flow to erode the inner surface!
You people really seem to have it in for me.
You wipe 25% off my savings, you severely limit my freedom of movement, and now this....
