ALLEGEDLY

sort of hard to not name the company , when i have to link to the document

Its all to do with scrap metal and the price they got , and handed over.

this doccy was well hidden on the internet

www.employment-relations.co.uk/pages/toplissvncp.p...f

dated dec 2008

however , another well hidden document (from the public) , states

" A parliamentary answer on 2nd February 2009 said that all revenue due had now been received by the DVLA (Hansard HC on 2nd Feb 2009 col 867W)"

so they eventually paid this back?

this had been going on for a long time , wonder if this court case had not have happened , it would still be going on?.

...can somebody please summise what the crime was...

No crime.

The DVLA had a contract with the company to scrap seized cars.

Scrap rose in price, but the company did not pass on the rise, the tribunal found.

A manager at the company refused to go along with this and was sacked - see my post above.

Hi,

The first question first; can anybody recommend a good air con specialist in Nottingham?

Second; I have had my car for about 2 years. When I first bought it, the air con was working. A month or so later, on a really hot day, I noticed it wasn't cooling as much as it should. Subsequently, I took it to Kwik Fit to get it regassed and it started working fine. I hardly used the AC at all over the autumn, winter and spring. In the summer (last year), I noticed it wasn't working. A friend of mine topped his AC up with a can from Halfords, and I asked him to put some in mine. The AC started working but only for a few days/ a week. It hasn't worked since.

I took it today to Halfords and they checked the pressure, and said there was no refrigerant in the system. I also had it topped up by them. The AC is not working, but the pressure has remained the same. Also, when AC button is pressed, the revs increase and it seems the compressor is still working.

I was wondering if someone could advise me what the problem could be, and how much it would cost to fix.

And tell the man you've used a Halfords tin on it before he connects and seriously damages his machine(he'll charge you for repairing his machine then as well as your car).

Neighbour's 11 year old son seems to use his Mum's Honda CRV as a playground. Jumps in and turns on the stereo, sits in the driving seat making vroom noises etc. Even plays ball games in and out of the car. Returned his strayed football a while ago to see one of his mates standing on the bonnet.

I've warned Bromp junior off after finding him in the passenger seat this afternoon.

What are other backroomer's views on kids playing around cars?

Has it crossed your mind that in only six years he'll be legally old enough
to drive the thing?

The idea that he'll shortly be an adolescent is frightening enough!
Didn't you ever do the same? I did but only with the old man's permission
and NEVER on pain of a horrible and prolonged death with the keys in.

No way I'd EVER have had permission (not that it stopped me from doing things unseen!). It's the parental permission, or at least acquiesence, here that bothers me. If he breaks something it's his Mum's problem. If he knocks the brake off their drive has a slope and other, younger, kids could be playing behind or in the roadway of our quiet cul de sac.

East Anglian town. Heard a local bus driver talking. After an 9 hour shift he had taken only £45 - but had carried over 500 people. No idea how much bus companies get paid for those of us over 60 with freeby passes but I bet it's not much.

Maybe the law of unintended consequences will come into play - giving everyone free bus passes results in no buses? Read more

I think you must have misread that. There's no subsidized services in Sheffield any more.

I never acted like a pig and yet at times was treated as such. Whereas I tend to think everyone is individual and should be treated as such - do not think that because 90% of your customers are rude they all are. I've worked in the retail/service industry nearly all my life so I know how bad/nice people can be.

Now Bayhill no longer exist, has anyone any idea where I can get the perspex rear light covers? Read more

I have a Bahill trailer - original British crude as hell engineering, but probably right for the job. Pity the steelwork was not galvanised.

Just go to any agricultural merchant and buy a couple of new light units complete - they're cheap enough.

How do you drain and refill the auto box on this crittur? Doesnt appear to be an obvious drain point. The service schedule doesnt list a filter replacement at any time but this is a very neglected motor and at 114,000 miles I'd like to be on the safe side.

Spoke to the good folk at King Automatics in Epsom. On the bottom of the box is a strange looking nut (27mm) with a 19mm bolt head in the middle. This is a combined filler/level plug. Remove the 19mm bolt then remove the 27mm nut. As this comes out it has a tube attached which acts like an overflow in the sink when you refill it. As the correct level is reached the oil spills down the tube out of the 19mm hole.
Refill procedure is to add oil (Dexron 111 or Texaco 7045)through the filler plug hole in the top of the'box until it spills out then start engine. Continue adding oil until it begins to spill again then replace 19mm bolt. Add a further 1/2 litre an you are done. There is no filter to change. Surprisingly even though the car had missed oil changes at 32, 64 and 96,000 miles the oil was still clear red in colour and only the tiniest bit smelly.

I have just bought a motorhome built on the Fiat Ducato 1.9TD. The dealer has put it through an MOT which it failed, needs new shock absorbers. I was very surprised as this motorhome has only done 15000 miles. Is this unusual and should I be looking at the rest of the suspension very closely. Read more

Happy Blue!

I had the engine bay cleaned last week. Not power washed or steam cleaned, but degreased and relatively gently rinsed. No degreaser went into the washer bottle or onto the nozzles.

Since then the washers (which have two nozzles to produce a wide fan spray) now produce two jets which are not that powerful. One seems to produce water immediately whilst the other takes a little longer, then produces a soapy jet which clears to water within a second or two. Also the water has a funny vinegary smell.

Any ideas how I can get it back to normal? Will they fail the MoT as they are?

I have ran washer bottle dry and put clear water through but with no improvement. Read more

Happy Blue!

Problem fixed. Mechanic had a good look and diagnosed a layer of crud and jellified algae next to the washer pump. Cleaned it out and now as good as new.
