There is another Chrysler Direct Sale in Manheim Colchester 09 April, with what MUST be the best chance for a 1/2 price, already discounted to 1/2price bargain!

There are a dozen or so Nitros, 08 plate & 10 Sebrings 57 plate.

Also a sprinkling of 300C's - I'm still temptedat by the estate, ('cos the Omega looks like it's on it's way out, after another head gasket problem) but even I can't justify the expenditure currently!!

It'll certainly be interesting to see what they make, if anyone else is venturing to East Anglia on Thursday!

I've regularly hired Sebring convertibles in Florida at this time of year. They are not the best drive, to say the least. They've usually been 2.8s I think. This year I took advantage of offers from the hire peeps and firstly had a Dodge Challenger for a week, which was a very cool retro looking car which turned lots of heads, then a Mustang convertible in red for a 400 mile day. Neither of these had the proper lump (= performance) but they all were fun, for a short time, but definitely not cars I'd like to own.

Recently I've noticed the revs dropping off after I start the ignition, and then slowly returning to a normal idle.

But now this has just aggravated to full out stalling. It looks like I can still get it going but its taking several attempts for each start.

Any ideas? It seems fine once its going. Read more

Your problem sounds similar to mine. I think it's the timing chain but you need to make sure it is.
A stretched "timing chain" is a common problem in Nissan Almeras. It's a RENAULT part that after so many miles it stretches which causes the engine to stall and not start.
Nissan is refusing so far to own up and replace their faulty part.
By the way it cost between £900-1000 to replace a timing chain!

Few links of the same problem:

Just been looking at a Daily Mail advertisement in today's issue for the Kia cee'd which contains some Reasons to be Cheerful - and an unexpected surprise.

First reason is a saving of up to £2,450 on the car's price, the second detailing the seven year warranty and the third, an outsider coming in at 100/1...:-)

Underneath the third reason is the wording: Over Becher's Brook. Over The Chair. Run you little beauty, run. You only put a pound on each way. Who cares? You're about to be rich.

Did the copywriter fancy Mon Mome or been given a tip?

I think we should be told...:-)

A press report
Though Mercedes-Benz Motorsport Vice-President Norbert Haug has been quick to re-iterate the Stuttgart marque?s continued commitment to the cause in Bahrain this weekend, the CEO of parent company Daimler AG has been anything but as certain.

?If circumstances should change, perhaps because of an unreasonable punishment by the FIA, it is possible that we could consider our engagement,? Dieter Zetsche confessed in an interview with German news magazine Focus.

I wonder what BMW are going to do?
"Formula One (for BMW) is valuable," Theissen is quoted as saying by RTL.
"Before the season the project was evaluated again in detail and the financial situation was part of the analysis," he explained.
"But in the long-term we also need success," said Theissen.

Will they just flog on like Toyota hoping for better times cos at present they have lost their way.

I'm going to have a go at replacing these later today.

Any tips or advice?

Are the bushes themselves typically hard to get in/out?

Am I likely to find the bolts/nuts seized up? Read more

I'll answer my own question.

Access is good and all other things being equal it would be a quick easy job.

However, all other things aren't equal - the bush was well stuck to the bolt that comes through the anti roll bar leaving two options: a) Blowlamp and let thermal expansion do its work or b) Hacksaw the bolt off and replace it.

It was a bit close to the petrol tank for carefree blowlamp work but as it happened grit, determination and the blowlamp did do the job.

I'll post some images in case anyone else needs to try this job.

Sorry guys, we have switched to a new server and the time wasn't set up correctly. The server crashed a few times too and this reset the time we had already set. So apologies for the erratic behaviour this afternoon. We hope to sort out more on Monday.

I waxed my wife's 3 door Punto last night and was a bit shocked to notice that there are bubbles (5 or 6) and rust spots around the front of the rear off side wheel arch. I'm sure that the bad winter and salting has caused this.

I've checked the service book and the three year body check was done. I did not, however, have the car serviced by the main dealer this time so the five year check was not done. It was only due a service at the end of March but I chose to go somewhere closer to home.

I telephoned the dealer today and they will do a body inspection without service for £10 which surprised me.

I just wondered how much chance I have of a successful outcome. Read more

you must persevere if it is perforation.
I had Ford replace a whole rear quarter on my 1991 Escort due to perforation around the fuel filler.
You must theaten court action and involve RAC - they backed mt fully and Ford even lent me a car for a replacement for a week.
If you lot let dealers get away with this your warranty may as well be on toilet paper!

If it's in warranty period then take it into a dealer for diagnostics etc. It could be a number of things.
