My uncle is looking at buying a:
Peugeot 307 90 estate LX2 OHDI on an 02 plate with 38k on the clock.
Its being offered by a Peugeot mian dealer at £4,000.
Questions.
Value for money?
Plus the coil springs have been replaced. Normally this would cause concern on a car of thsi age buy the dealer is saying this was a compulsory Peugoet recall. Is this true?
Other comments appreciated. Read more
Thanks for this. Never thought about buying a bike from auction before.
I had been looking and what with the price of bikes in the UK at present it's no surprise Europeans are attending.

Can I buy as a privateer from a BCA auction, or must I be trade registered? Been looking for ex-police bikes for a while direct from source rather than third or fourth-hand.

Hello, l would be very grateful for any opinion on the merits of owning a BMW, l haven't owned one previously, what to look for, reliability, hints tips, are they as good as adverts would suggest etc.
l have a large family, hence have a people carrier, who have grown leaving me with a large vehicle commuting 60 miles to & from work. l need however, to retain the people carrier for the odd occasion when we are all in the vehicle.
Basically, would a BMW be a reasonable commuter car, or should l take the sensible option of a small diesel.
Lastly, l'm not looking to spend more than approx' £3000.
Thank you in advance. Read more
Well thanks everyone for the help, opinions & experience.
l guess it is a heart v head decision, though as you say Humph, l would get a whole lot more car, & it would seem reliability, with a Mondeo.

Hi chaps, my faithful old Rover 75 has, more or less, died - it is now worth diddly. I can get £1K for it (so they say) against a Corsa Active 1.3 CDTi making the price OTR £8,855 - seems pretty good to me - any thoughts / comments most welcome. Regards Roger Read more

I have aquired a 2006 x type 2.0d estate which has a set of worn 205/55/16 tyres and in my shed I have a set of new 225/55/16 tyres if I change them then the speedo is going to read 2.5 mph slow at 60mph my logic says because that speedos over estimate speed that it should balance itself out.Are there any flaws in my theory it seems a shame to have to buy new tyres when I have these others in stock and being a true Yorkshire man wallet comes first. Andy doesn't tell us what rims the tyres are going on but a rim of 7 or 7.5 inches will take both tyre sizes.
7" rim will take between 195 and 225, 7.5" will take 205 to 235.

Around one third (depending on union) goes to a 'Political Fund', most of that goes to the Labour party, some to Socialist worker, some to Anti-facist Alliance, some to very small groups such as general rabble-rousers. You can opt-out, but they usually make you jump through hoops with forms that repeatedly get lost etc...

If you go to this site www.vosa.gov.uk you will be able to see exactly what recalls there have been to this model. Although this may have been an unofficial Pug recall. It may be interesting to ask the dealer to prove if all the other recall items on the list have been dealt with...
