Only about 10K or less on the clock.
Fire sale?
Seems a bargain for a 3.6/2.8 V6 / auto/leather/lots of toys
Alloutlets seem to have 1 car to sell.

Wow, I really like the look of those.
From another Evans Halshaw, found on Autotrader, they also have a 2005 55 Reg CADILLAC CTS 2.8 V6 Sport Luxury Auto with 19k miles for £5,891

|
Evans Halshaw are part of Pendragon (was the biggest dealer group...but might be worth less than they paid for RegVardy at the moment)... I hope things pick up soon for all companies!

Pendragon (Trading as Evans Halshaw/Stratstone) paid circa £400/500million for Reg Vardy a couple of years back. They have some 300+ outlets and are big dealers for most franchises , if not the biggest for Jaguar/LR amongst others - they were the chief (only?) chain that took on Cadillac.
Pendragon shares have lost most value and trade around 3 or 4p (PENCE!!) per share and the total value of the company is around £30m IIRC - i.e. the share price has fallen 90%+ over the last 2 years or so.

Done much better than the banks, then, and without £billions of tax payers' money.

Parker's online gives £9000 - £10600 from a franchised dealer. 24 mpg and 277 g/km CO2.

That says more about Parker's at the moment than about the Cadillac, don't you think?
|
But would anyone seriously spend £6,500 of their own money on a 3 year old piece of American junk?

3 year old piece of American junk?
especially as it will be out of warranty, and assuming that an approved/authorised dealer will be around to service it in future.

Actually the CTS is one of GM's better cars, if that's not condemnation with faint praise. It's rear wheel drive, the interior at least looks like someone made an effort and, according to a colleague, it's good to drive (not driven one myself).
Cadillac's problem is the other products such as the truly dire DTS (which I have driven) and the frankly laughable Trailblazer based Escalade (which I would be too embarrassed to drive).
|
I do really like the look of it, but have never driven one so may change my opinion.
I'm not sure if I should be worried about my local independent being able to service it though....
|
Low price is due to it being the old model. New list price of 3.6 is just under £30k.
Main dealers are selling three year old examples for little over 20% of RRP, I wonder what the trade-in value is ? They make used Alfa's look almost recession proof.
Buy it if you can afford to throw it away I think.

The only people who call Cadillacs "a piece of american junk"are the people who have never owned one! I have owned Jaguars, Rovers, etc and they gave me nothing but grief, not to mention high running costs. If the Americans can put a man on the moon,I think its fair to say they can produce tough ,reliable cars (in spite of what Clarkson might say)
Buy one....run it for a while...then give us your opinion!
You can not judge a Cadillac on the strenghth of a 5 min. test drive.

Caddyman-looked at these at the time, and put a deposit on one, SWMBO didn't like it so got deposit back. Really nice car, the sales rep hadn't been in it previously and we went a nice long test drive asit was a slow day for him. He really liked it too and was quite taken with it and rated it better than the mercs he usually sold.

I was about to say that I assume it is £6,500 given to the person who dirves it away. That was the only logical conclusion I could draw to.

Dear Roly...Did you actually ask the salesman to give you the car and 6.5k? I think not. But its too late now,as I think someone else has spotted a bargain and its sold.
By the way...Does anyone know which saloon car holds the performance record for the Nurburgring test track in Germany? 9th May 2008. Ahead of a Porche 911, Nissan Skyline,Merc.CLK, Aston Martin, Honda Nsx R,Audi R8, Bmw, etc, etc. It is a Cadillac CTS (v)

In what way?

I might as well answer this, as it's popped up again.
The gap between Parker's listed prices and reality appeared in February to be pretty wide. Their figure for one of my cars is still pretty well twice what I think it's worth. I guess the way used car prices have risen in the UK since February the valuation gap may have closed a bit though.
As an aside, there are quite a few Caddy CTSs in this part of France. It may be down to a particular type of appeal to the French though, as there are also quite a lot of Plumber's Bentleys (Chrysler 300s) as well.

It was, until the Porsche Panamera beat it by 3 seconds this year.

Was that the £72000 "s" or The £95000 turbo ? A few more bucks for 3 seconds.!!
When I said "ahead of" I meant the FIRST saloon car to beat the 8 min.record.
That will always be true. Enjoy your Porsche.
