I wondered whether anybody has bought a car from www.carsite.co.uk and what has been their experience?

Can you self-calibrate the fuel computer on a ford S-Max. Mine is about 15% optomistic and I know that you could self-calibrate the FC in the Mondeo's by using the two dials/steering wheel controls. If it can be done on an S-MAx, how?
I know I can always deduct 15% off the claimed number but if it is easily fixable, I rather would.
Thanks

The headlamps on my Land-Rover are like candles in jars despite reasonably new reflectors, good ( Osram ) H4s and new, clean earth connections. I was going to check the voltage at the bulbs but realised that I have forgotten the correct reading! Can anyone help and should the bulbs be conected to the three way plug at the time of the test or not?

Thanks all. The entire loom is only just over two years old and there are no "nasty" connectors anywhere - the vehicle is standard spec. I'll go for the relat approach this weekend and see if there is any improvement.
A few months ago I posted the above topis on the forum for a request for hepl and advice. I thought I'd update you with the progress so far. I have been in touch with my insurance company and completed all the required paperwork. My insurance company are stating that WVM is denying hitting my vehicle and says that I hit him. I believe this is going to be a long and drawn out affair and possibly with a 50/50 verdict at the end (which I'm not happy with!!!) Thanks to all who commented. I have taken what you have said on board. Read more

The air con on the above doesn't work. I had some new refrigerant put into it a few months ago and at first it worked like a charm, left it over night and the next morning, nothing! I assume from this that I have a leak in the system somewhere. I haven't used the air con for some time and was wondering if because of the lack of use I may have damaged the compressor or the system itself which could be expensive to replace. What would the cost be for a new compressor and what is the best way to locate the leak? Read more
Having just looked up a 2003 Zafira handbook on Vauxhall's website (that's the earliest dated edition I can find) -
It's as Bell Boys has already mentioned. Fuses 39 & 40. Both 5 amp fuses.
It also mentions fuse 2 = 30 amp fuse (this is a larger dimension sized than the others). Fuse 35 = 10 amp fuse.
Plus fuse 22 = 15 amp. But this fuse is also for the hazzard warning lights, so if they're working you can dimiss it.
i have a hole in the side of backbox (about the size of a one pence coin), if i block/fill this hole in with something like exhaust assy paste, will it still cause my car to fail its mot? Read more
My Focus passed with a bigger hole than that because it was only in the outer skin of a double-skinned silencer.

Anybody know where the gearbox filler plug is on a 2005 1.4l petrol Citroen Berlingo? The drain is obvious but the filler isn't where my Haynes manual claims it should be. It has an MA5 type gearbox apparently which is different to diesel versions. Read more
do the crank sensors in ( dis) ignition cars need any maintenance? i know they are not moving parts so i assume no wear but do they get clogged up with old oil or gunk? and is it woth taking it out and giving it a clean just for a better tick over Read more
Agree, leave a lone, they tend to get stuck in the block, so when you remove it they can easily get broken...however, yes they do get a littl dirty and metal filing stick to them.
