After just 30 miles of cleaning it out the oil filler breather pipe has become blocked again. Its 1.1 HCS engine.
I have replaced the oil cap but not drive it since, I am hoping this would solve the problem. What causes the oil to go in the breather pipe anwyay?
I am a bit stumpted. Read more

Hi all,
Seen these on ebay, and think they look really good. The question is are they legal in the uk ??
Cheers

The supplier is mentioned earlier in the post;I have checked my plates against the DVLA web-site and they are 100% legal. The only plates you are not allowed to fit are ones with stick-on numbers-pressed ali and riveted plates are 100% legal as long as they are reflective and have the correct spacing/size on the letters/numbers.
I saw a car for sale today with a Yellow front number plate. The car was a VW Scirroco F plate. Is that legal ??. Regards Peter Read more
what about newish cars with black and silver plates ( black plate ,silver numbers) how do they get away with it ,i remember old cars from the 60s with them
I am experiencing some problems with the steering on my 2001 diesel Passatt. A couple of days ago I noticed a pulsing on the wheel on full lock whilst parking. It then developed a knocking noise whilst driving that seemed to come and go. I have just topped up the steering pump reservoir which was on Min. The noise was still there so I have removed the engine cover and whilst ticking over I have noticed that the knocking noise is coming from the alternator/steering pump drive belt tensioner which seems to be vibrating badly and the belt is whipping. I have just removed the belt and the idler wheel bearing seems ok and the pump spins freely.
I am wondering if somehow air has gotten into the steering system causing the pump to judder?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did you use the special green PAS fluid?
It is much thinner than normal ATF.
If air is drawn in, it usually aeriates the fluid and makes it look cloudy and makes a grinding sound like an electric blender or whisk.

Apart from the suggestions already made, have you tried Ctrl Alt Delete and ending the particular program or application that may be causing the freezing?
...i.e. from Task Manager.

Hi
Just bought a Peugeot 106 1.5 TUD Diesel, the problem I have is when I drive the car over bumps or pot holes I can feel a knocking through the steering and I know it is definately coming from the drivers side, could it be the wish bone gone or the tie rod ball joint. Any suggestions would be great

Well just fitted the drivers side wish bone, and that problem of knocking has gone now, and I did inspect the old wishbone, the bush that joins onto the body of the car was cracked and perished, and the ball joint was very loose on the arm, so it was knackerd. Just one thing though with the steering centralised and when I turn it left to right slightly like they do at the MOT I noticed a clonking sound, not sure if thats a outer tie rod ball joint knackered or a inner tie rod ball joint knackered, any ideas??

Hello,
My recently replaced Ford 6006 unit had pretty good AM reception though sometimes would generate a ssh ssh ssh type of interferance (usually on 5Live 909 MW) which strangely could be reduced or cured temporarily by using another electrical device, the best bet was a quick tweak on one of the electric seat adjusters, not enough to move the seat even though clearly enough to generate some load.
The newly fitted Pioneer MP3 unit exhibits simlar charateristics on occasions though more a warbling than the previous ssh ssh though it is also reduced by a tweak on the elec seat as before.
This perhaps indicates a slight supression problem, any ideas?
Thanks.

I assume the aerial amp is fed by voltage up the lead? (there will be a dongle in the aerial feed or plufg to do this? If so this needs to go back to the battery as well (again fed through a relay)
