The oil and battery warning lights have come on today in my car, at the same time the rev counter has stopped working. I've also got an intermittent problem with the front windows and electric rear view mirrors, they will work fine for a few weeks or even months, then they just stop! It can be one side only, or both sides. Any ideas??

You get seven days free fully comp when you buy a car on eBay. I think you have to get a quotation from an insurance company.

That reminds me that I'm sure I've read that, strictly speaking, your insurance isn't valid until you've got the cover note in your hand?
My son has just bought the above model, drove it 30 miles home but battery was flat next morning. Tried different battery and jump starting but to no avail, lights flash (no alarm thank goodness)but car won't start, he thinks immobiliser has kicked in. Needless to say no handbook and key looks as if it had 'plip' buttons but rubber worn away.
Any ideas how to disarm immobiliser, one mobile auto elec said if it was a Peugeot immobiliser he couldn't do anything with it. Thanks now to any replies.

Any ideas what i have done and more importantly, how do i fix or bypass it??
Any help would be great as this car is my new pride and joy!!
According to the new VED bands published on DVLA site to take into account Gordons robbery oif yesterday those vehicles with up to 100g/km are now exempt from duty and a free Licence applies.
Checking my V5C for the Landie (Defender HT)it quotes g/km as 0.065.

Reading the article in the Telegraph it appears that UK motorists now approach foreign lorry drivers to buy diesel at half UK price. Some foriegn lorries having up to 1,500 litre tanks apparently.
Anyone here done this and wants to admit it? Read more
At 50 to the gallon I am happy to pay a bit extra for Ultimate so certainly would not risk dodgy diesel to save only a few quid.
As I drive around in a non official capacity I have noticed that drivers who blatantly use a mobile phone when driving frequently do not wear a seat belt and drive in an aggressive manner (probably because they are not in full control of the vehicle).
Does this indicate a mindset, particular character traits or am I just been synical??
My own view is that its a somewhat arrogant 'I'll do as I please' trait.

Just in the process of getting mrs andy a Meriva Design, and i see the CD player plays MP3 tracks, which is obviously A Good Thing in that you can get lots of tracks on a CD - but if anyone's used one of these - what track info does the little display show? If it doesn't show track name then if she has a CD with 180-odd tracks on it's going to be hard to know what's on there.
Has anyone used one of these, and how did you find it?
Thanks ever so... Read more
If you want to make sure that mp3 tracks are well organised and named as you wish, then a very useful piece of software is TDT - Tag Database Tool.
It's intended for iRiver owners for sorting the database for their mp3 players, but it will also rename and organise all tracks in a specified system of directories in any way that you wish. I use it all the time, it's a bit slow once you get up to 30 Gb + of tracks, but works very well.

I have got a case of the thrumming, chamfered blocks on the rear tyre(s) causing a thrum at certain speeds, there has been a few cases reported recently within these pages, I recall a 330d and a Vectra.
My rear tyres have done about 25k miles and are wearing more on the outside than the inside, the Mondeo does that, they both have a fair bit of wear left in them though the nearside is slightly more worn than the offside. I am noticing the thrum from this nearside rear. The fronts are the same tyre, Bridgestone, though newer, about 8k miles. The tyres are directional so cannot be moved easiliy from one side of the car to the other.
Options:
Get the rears turned on the wheels so, for instance, the outside of the nsr becomes the inside of the osr. Cost about 20 quid with balancing.
Move the rears to the front on the same side of the car with the expectation that the thrum will be less noticable on the front or may disappear due to a different wear pattern.
Any thoughtS?

Good points there Mapmaker, yes you mentioned this previously re your Vectra, I also had it before on a Vectra V6 estate and though there was guy with a 3.0 CTDi on here who had the same symptoms recently.
My rear tyres are not badly worn nor are they too uneven, it is simply the block chamfering that is causing the thrum, I think I might exchange fronts to rears at the weekend and take it for a spin to see how it drives.

No. They are totally different according to my Delco Remy catalogue.
