does anyone find the intensity or focus of the beam of light from Mazda headlights to be very poor? If so what steps have you taken to rectify this.
Am considering buying Osram Silverstars or similar good quality lamps, as I have in my other cars. I note however it states on the packaging "up to 50% more light on the road, depending on the vehicle". Could the thick glass projector type lense in the headlamp be the issue, whereas my other cars are just a clear glass or polycarbonate unit where you can see the lamp clearly through the glass.
Interested to hear your experiences.

During recent cold snap, both front door locks froze up and would not open. Handles moved out but lock didn't operate (?) Once thawed, removed outside handles and sprayed with WD40 and locks worked. Once temperature dropped below freezing locks still would not operate. Once car was warm locks operated OK. Do I need to remove locks and clean up? Funny the back door locks operate OK Read more

I have the same issues with my 2001 classic.. Where u able to remedy the fault? And if successful, how did u fix it.?
A curved crack about 2.5" long has appeared across the lower offside corner of the windscreen on my 1996 Mk III Golf VR6. It's in the coloured area below the level where it would be a problem in terms of visibility. However, I wonder if it is a common weakness and how it could have happened (the car has a gentle life), there being no sign of external impact and I think it's only the outer glass that's cracked. Would you live with it or consider it to be a liability needing immediate replacement? Read more
If it is not in your line of sight-leave it.

Can anyone explain exactly what a dual mass flywheel is please.
An ordinary flywheel is nice and easy to understand - so why exactly is a DMF needed and what advantages does it offer?
Thanks in anticipation. Read more
Thanks all - makes sense now ............
Hi All
Does anyone know how the DVLA categorises the semi-automatic vehicles now being sold? I'm thinking specifically of the Toyota Yaris MMT but there seem to be lots of new super minis where they dont offer a fully automatic version. Why do I need to know? I have an Automatic license. Its a long story but I cant face the trauma of retaking my driving test so please dont suggest it :)
I'm not sure which of the new cars I'm legally allowed to drive. I know that I physically 'could' drive one by keeping it in automatic mode all the time, but if it's categorised by the DVLA as a manual then legally I'd need L plates and a qualified driver with me at all times... Searching the DVLA site hasn't given me the information, can anyone offer a definitive answer?
Many Thanks
Bea

The M3 SMG apparently can't be driven on an auto licence say my family.
It's the time of year when I usually start thinking about a 4WD car. I have a 50-mile round trip commute to work and there's a nice winding bit in the middle which got a bit hairy in the recent snow.
Does 4WD offers any significant advantages over a FWD (or RWD) car with stability control?
Sorry if this has been done before: I did try a search but couldn't find anything.
HNY.

Has anyody got any news as to when a facelifted version of the Vauxhall Vivaro/Renault Traffic/Nissan Primastar may be planned?
I know the look of these vans still look fresh, does anybody working at the Luton factory got any idea if a replacement is planned and when ? Read more
No you don't understand, must have the latest model, vans must look good will alloys etc, not over the top like the A team or anything, mine is currently used as a 2nd vehicle with use for leasure purposes.
You must see of seen some high spec VW T5 transporters on the road, some of these are over £30k and 174hp diesel, what a tool?
Sad case yes! But I still need info if and when the new Vivaro replacement is due, can anybody help?...............
Refering to the thread about the high speed crash in France. I was doing almost three figures on the M1 (yes I know) on Chrsitams Day in a small line of cars. My car was loaded with five people and luggage.
The car felt very safe and secure, and with plently more to give. It felt better at 100 than it does at 65. I am not surprised if high speed in an Audi A8 gives an illusion of safety and security that is not really there.

Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive? Read more
Another factor here is that most drivers are more alert at high speed and therefore more in tune with what is going on around them. Most modern cars are just too cosseting at the NSL.

Wouldn`t they all do that? On my Medion MD 95900 that I got at Aldi all I do is select navigation then simply select "show map" then zoom in/out to suit. I did this while driving round on holiday on country roads!
