CheapNcheerfull

Hi all,

I have survived on an old charger for many years, but it now needs replacing. What do I need to look for to ensure I have one that I can simply connect up and leave it to work out what is needed, ideally 35-40 pounds.

Any recommendations ?

Cheers Read more

It recovers bad batteries where possible with a high voltage/low current that helps repair the battery cells

That statement bothers me, if it does this while the battery is still on the car.

My daughter needs to find a trustworthy garage in Leicester, preferably in the LE2 postcode area. She needs a driveshaft gaiter replacing on a Fiat Cinquecento. Fairly straightforward job, I know, but I have seen a lot of errors by some mechanics on this kind of work in the past.
Anyone able to recommend? Read more

Thank you for all your help. A wee girl in a distant city (from her home in Sunderland) will be eternally grateful for your efforts.

Hi HJ and All,

Sorry to hear about the problems, all I knew of it was that I could not log in this morning, otherwise busy over the weekend.

Is it true that two weeks are lost completely, not even a back up at the ISP?, they usually run RAID servers. Such a great shame if truly lost for ever!

Volvoman that is the single most amusing thing you have said on here. What a relief to find that it truly is June and not May.

The other one was on 84 posts so it's probably best starting a new one.

Shows how they're trying to show a more "ordinary" side driving other people's cars.

Can anyone tell me why the new A class' fog lights kept alterating when May was driving it?

(The "Star" in a Reasonably Priced Car has become incredibly boring - hence this post, and my imminent trip to the fridge for food)

New shape Vectra 2.0 or 2.2, chain cam, 50+ mpg, you
could get a really late low mileage top spec for that
money,

Vectra 1.9 CDTi's (the 150bhp engine) can now be obtained for the price jammods is willing to pay.

Wow. Well for the bikes anyway.

I found it telling that Patrick Head flew back from Hockenheim after qualifying to go to the MotoGP at Donnington!

Me and Adski have been suffering withdrawal symptoms. We were wondering if one of the mods had hit the 'delete all' button ?

I even had to by a S***** T**** to read the driving supplement

Sorry Alan, I didn't realise.

I realise now (correctly I hope!) that the disclaimer is there purely to protect the site and HJ from being sued. Whether a claimant then wants to persue a BR member is up to him, but he'd have to do so using his own devices.

Does the fiesta have problems with power steering leaks? I have a 2002 freestyle which needed a new steering rack at 30K. Now my hubby's 2002 (new style) ghia needs a new steering rack, at 25K, just 1 month out of warranty and 5 weeks after a major service. The ford garage can only help by quoting me £750 plus labour. Have other owners had this problem and does it really cost that much?? (Sorry, I know very little about car mechanics).

Astragow,

Nip on (pardon the pun) to www.npoc.co.uk/default.asp and post yur question there (Nissan Primera Owners Club) and they should be able to help.

You will have to register but not necessarily have to join (£15 per annum).

Good luck!
