My sister in law's key has snapped in the ignition. It is a T reg diesel. She has compounded the problem by pushing the remains further into the barrel.
She has the 'red' key.
What is the best thing to do please. She has tried tweezers but it is too far in.

Happened to find in the garage ta can of Lub in an Aerosol, which was marked for hinges, catches, and window recesses. Problem solved, slides up fine. Thanks for the advice.
My X-reg Punto with aircon suffers from a damp passenger footwell after rain. This leads to overnight misting and sometimes internal frosting. Under the bonnet, there is a large trough with two drain holes. I always keep these clear and can discover no other leak. Has any other Punto owner experienced this and found a cure please? Read more
I'll second the pollen filter on the Focus. I had a whole load of water in mine because of that.

i have a 7 series bmw 1998 R reg with inoperative speedo,milometer,abs/asc light illuminated and wipers only work on intermittent.we believe it to be speed sensor but which ones and where located, has anyone any info please. Read more
All these problems are usually caused by a fault with an abs sensor.Probably nearside rear, but I would suggest get system checked with decent diag kit for confirmation. The sensor is mounted in the hub just behind road wheel.
At least tell us the nature of the problem eg commercial, technical etc Virus loaded?
It appeared good light hearted fun, I was looking for it for somebody else to use.
Can somebody else tell me the address and post it as a non clickable link.

Yes. No problem at all with a non clickable link because
anyone using it is not going there from this site.

So couldn't you have just edited the first post in the original thread to make it non-clickable, instead of culling the whole thing?
It is neither an estate or an MPV - just a golf with an extra two inches in the roof - whats the point ? Read more
Comes from the Ford Fusion academy of pointless cars..
No good for dwarves then (they all have points on their hats)
i purchased an astra van 20 months ago for 12 grand on a 52 plate that had 5 miles on the clock. i have now clocked up 135000 and need to get rid. it is in very good condition and runs very good too, what price should i be looking to ask for it private or dealer Read more
12K does sound a lot for a car derived van (small van).
The Primastar cost £10,900 plus vat new (LWB Transit sized).
As David says, you must be able to shop around for a better deal this time. Try Vans Direct www.vansdirect.co.uk

As HJ has said it's ok for a link for video clips to be posted providing they're not clickable, here's the URL for the video clip that was previously posted and subsequently deleted:-

It's not often I drive my wifes Car. Peugeot 206 51 plate.
But I have noticed that there is a slight delay when you operate the Horn or Headlamp flasher, meaning that when you press the horn its sounds approx. half second later, same for the Headlamp flasher. It is not instance like most cars.
Is this the same for all 206's or is there a fault in the Control unit. Read more
I had a Peugeot 206, and it did exactly as you describe, delayed horn activation and high beam, so unless mine was faulty as well, it is normal.
It was very irritating, almost as if it was being resistant to my wishes. I think it will be as PhilW says, down to the multiplex wiring. I now have a C3 in its place, and I would assume it also has the multiplex wiring, but it works "normally" without this delaydelay.

The OS headlamp on my C5 has conked out on dipped beam. Normally, of course, this would be no big deal, but my one has xenon lights and the handbook insists that the car should be taken to the dealer to change the bulb! Can anyone advise on the following.
1. Is this fault almost certainly a failed bulb as opposed to the circuitry that 'ignites' the xenon? (Could it simply be a fuse?)
2. Assuming that it's the bulb, is it safe enough to change it myself, provided lights are off and maybe even battery disconnected (ie is there a danger of electrocution (20,000 volts!) even after system is switched off (residual power in capacitors or suchlike.)
3, Would it be sensible to switch bulbs from side to side to make sure it really is a bulb failure - or would this probably just hasten the demise of the other one!
4. Are these bulbs covered under the 3 year vehicle warranty - or would they count as 'consumeables'?
I've checked the prices of these bulbs on the internet (D2S/D2R)and I see they are around £80 - £90 each (Aaargh!)Clearly, I want to be dead sure that it's a bulb and if possible, fit it myself to save even more grief from the dealer in fitting costs.
Haynes don't do a manual for C5 (and probably never will!)so I'm working 'in the dark' (sorry couldn't resist it!)

Are you sure that D2R/D2S bulbs are selling at £15 on Ebay?
- Yes I often bid on them so I can have a spare, but I don't usually go above £10 as I don't need one.
In that case, put the superglue on a thin piece of metal (or a small screwdriver) instead. First making sure that the ignition barrel is turned to the postition where you usually can remove the key.
