Can anyone recommend a company for alloy wheel refurbishment in South London. My car is three years old with factory fit BMW alloys. I have a 3-4 pothole marks, one kerbing mark as well as some discolouration in the finish in places - (road salt corrossion?)
I have tried the Wheelbrite number in the FAQ a few times but it seems to ring out and just go to a BT answering service.
Any other recommendations?
Many thanks

I return to this subject without apology.
I know that a senior detective is critically ill after what appears to be a hit and run accident yesterday- I sincerely hope he survives and my sympathy goes to his family BUT .....
Was it really necessary for Scotland Yard to close the whole of the M11 from the M25 junction to the North Circular for 12 hours to investigate a crime which at worst is probably a case of reckless driving and if it was necessary ,why not close it from junction 5 at Loughton rather than M25 junction 6.
The consequences of the closure decision are horrendous for thousands of people - who takes them and to whom are they accountable. Read more
Gerber foods come in jars that don't require refrigeration. (Do they still make them?) Ideal for an emergency such as that.
My first time at this so here goes ......
Bought a brand new Renault Scenic from a local car supermarket at good discounted price. Uk spec vehicle which they claim came direct from Renault BUT....
when I ask about the 3 year Renault Assistance breakdown cover that comes with all new Scenics they are claiming this will only apply to cars bought from a main dealer. Help!! Read more
How much would it cost to purchase breakdown cover and an extra 1 year warranty? If it saves more than this to buy from a supermarket, then it is still worth it.
Hello,
I have a convertable car and the question I hear most is..."Does it actually have a hood?" mainly because unless it's really bucketing down with rain I don't really put the hood up.
Now I appreciate that not everyone is going to be the same as me but the number of Convertables I see with the hoods up even on the nicest of days strikes me as bizzarre. After all people pay a premium for a convetable why don't they use them?

Hi
I have a Mk4 Ford Fiesta Flight 16V registered in 1997/1998. I have recently started to hear what can be described as a clicking noise coming from the offside front wheel after I apply the footbrake. This always occurs, irrespective of how quickly I apply the footbrake. The braking is not affected in any way - it remains very good.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
TIA

It sounds a little more mechanical than a simple relay, and when I open the window the noise appears to emanate from outside. I do have spare relays so I may do a simple swap to elimate this. Thanks for the reply Simon.
Heres a short question
How often should brake fluid be changed.

Plus moisture will sit at low points and rot your cylinders from the inside out. I've just rebuilt all four calipers on my MX5 and the crud that was on and behind the pistons was 'orrible.

I find some entries a little surprising e.g. for Ferrari
"Defect Summary:
On certain vehicles, the wheel securing bolts or lug bolts may not have been manufactured properly.
Consequence Summary:
The affected bolts would break leading to a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash."
Nicely put, even if only 27 cars are affected. Read more
I have an old citroen zx turbo diesel and the radio turns on but the lcd lights up but is blank, any ideas.

I take it that the radio works OK, just no display. Likely to be one of 2 main faults: firstly a wire or connector has come adrift inside the unit, secondly a duff component, probably a capacitor, in the circuit that drives the display (had this fault in a home hi-fi system). If you are handly with a screwdriverand soldering iron, and the fault is the first one, cost to repair will be zero. If the second fault, likely to cost around £70.

I'm looking to buy a family-size estate car. In some ways I'd like to buy a 'British' car. The only one I can think of would be a Rover 75 which, although is undoubtedly a decent car, doesn't exactly excite me. Does anyone know how 'British' some of the other cars of this type are? As I understand it Mondeos are built in Belgium (but engines built here?)
Thanks Read more
Thanks for all the replies. It's funny that the Primera and Avensis still don't spring to mind when you think of a British Car. I'd not thought about the Jag X type - worth a closer look as it is a good looking car. I currently run a mk 2 Passat and it's easy to think that's all German but there are parts on it from UK, Yugoslavia, Tunisia, France.

Little way out but Lepsons in Gillingham Kent are very good and fairly cheap. Used them quite a few times and never had a problem. Also mate is in Ford RS owners club and V Picky about detail and he rates them above all others.
