I am still in a dilemma as to whether to change my Y(01) Passat for an MGZT. These are around £14-15000 at dealers. Have you seen any ZT's going through auction and if so what did they fetch.
Thanks,MLC

I have been offered a Mondeo ST 24 (RSAP) 5 dr in silver with 75k - 99S FSH.
The car is 4k - does this sound reasonable to anyone - would like some help as to whether or not to go for it. Read more
The battery went flat in my remote key fob for the Mondewoe and I can no longer find the site that told me how to reprogram it. Does anyone know of a Mondewoe site that tells you how to program the various keys?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
The Multifunction display for radio/computer/phone is total dead! I have searched high and low in Northern Ireland and nobody has a broken vehicle with the second hand part.
The Vauxhall part No is: 090565935 or 9180552
Would anyone know of a location of a second hand one in UK?
Many thanks..

Cheers lad's, was thinking the same thing about second hand. I have a mate in Vauxhall who can get me the new model one for £240 pounds. May take him up on it!!
My 1990 205 suffers from severe condensation at the moment. I think there may be a leak around the glass in the tailgate. Is it a practical DIY task to take the window out and replace with a new seal? Or is there a good mastic/sealer available?

I've just noticed that you've asked the same question in a new thread "Peugeot 205 - Is It Leaking", so there's no need for us to add more comments to this thread.

My father taught me to drive and, as he was army trained, insisted that I press the release button when applying the handbrake to avoid clicking the ratchet. Having mentioned this in the office this afternoon, opinion is divided between those who like me were taught to have a bit of sympathy with the machinery and those of the view that ratchets were made to click - that's their raison d'etre.
The question doesn't arise with the XMs of course, so Rob G and other such discerning people are excused from this poll.
Even pressing the button when applying, SWMBO has trouble releasing handbrakes I've put on and it seems other ladies in the office have similar troubles with their own partners.
So, avoiding any puns on rodent excrement, what is the considered view of backroomers?

I should have said it was push down for 1st and 2nd on the MO !
Any ideas as to what could be causing my car's engine to be making a tapping noise. I'm assured by my local garage that it's not the tappets. The car is regularly serviced and the recommended Ford oil is used.
thanks Read more
it's only started comparatively recently. It was only when I listened to another Fiesta of the same noise that I was struck as to the difference in noise. My car's done 60k miles.
Hi there,
Is anyone 'in the know' able to advise a private buyer (me) whether my work colleagues M 95 Peugeot 306 1.8 SR sedan is actually worth the £1500 he wants for it? It has SH up to 60k, he's done his own up to the now 97k. It's that nice tahiti blue, with alloys, but needs a b***** good valet, and sadly has 1 or 2 little dings on the wing and door from parking. Overall I'd say it would look very nice with a polish and hoover. Oh, and for some reason the little pip on the drivers door to work the lock has pinged off. Wierd. And the indicator lense clear outer on the front is missing.
Can anyone tell me roughly if this is a good deal?
Is this a good car for a young family (we have our first baby on the way and our Ford Ka will be too small.)
Apologies if this is a stupid request, it's my first post....

I believe Ford is now catching up by sharing a joint venture with PSA in 1.5-litre diesels, as fitted in recent 206.
My personal feeling in buying a 99V car with 87K on the clock is that the car may have been too busy for proper looking after. However if you are happy with the condition and the documents, go for it.
Hi,
hopefully that got your attention.
right, well i put a £300 deposit down on a ford fiesta zetec s at motorpoint. It was a nearly new one and was due to arrive in 3 weeks and if i decided against the car for any reason the deposit could be transfered to any other vehicle. I was satisfied with this. Anyway, the car arrived early at their derby site and i got the vehicles V5 registration document through unexpectidly with me specified as the new registered keeper without seeing the vehicle as agreed.
As i see it i havent yet agreed to buy the car so they have \'jumped the gun\' and presumed it. Where do i stand from here and is there anyway they can remove me from the V5 if i decide not to purchase it?
thanks a lot - would appreciate a response!

Thats what i mean. Will i appear as the 2nd 'keeper' on the V5 then
Old Mazda 323, and when at speed, the wipers don't park, same when on intermittent. They get about half way down the screen, do a couple of lurches, then stop. They park ok at standstill, but obviously the extra drag at speed (it does nearly 70 you know)screws it up. Is it the relay/timer that can't stand the extra power drain, or the wiper motor drawing too much current causing the relay to shut down? Read more
Hi
I had almost the same problem on my mx6. My intermittant wouldn't work. The best option I found was to replace the whole indicator and wiper stalk system.
Its not too bad a job (even easier if you don't have an airbag).
The part cost me £50 from a scrapyard.
Just make sure that it is the correct model and a UK car.
Hope that helps
Jonathan
99S should have revised lower wishbone bushes that are vastly more reliable.
Check for water leaks into the rear light clusters - by unclipping the trim and feeling for a puddle in the cluster itself. Mouldy smelly interior panels and soundproofing are not nice!
Check for uneven tyre wear and or crooked steering wheel. The alignement can be significantly knocked out of tolerance if kerbed 30mph or more - needs £50 4 wheel laser alignment.
Make sure it doesnt have mudflaps fited, there will probably be no paint left behind them.
I have a 99S 1.8LX it is a good car but has depreciated hugely.
Front pads only half way down after 40k (mainly motorway)
Have a look at www.fordmondeo.org and cbc breakdown on this site.
